Charming historic train station (ca.1830) located near the southeast corner of Cayuga Lake, across the street from Stewart Park, the Visitor Center and the Cayuga Waterfront Trailhead.

This house is not for everybody. It has a rustic, bohemian vibe. There is a flight of stairs leading to the bedroom.

During Rona times I prefer to rent for 3 nights or more, but would consider 2 night stays depending on when it is. Feel free to send me a message and see.

The space
There is one very friendly cat named Blue who lives on the property. He was a stray who chose the property as his forever home during the summer of 2014. He hates to leave the property and refuses to get in a cat carrier, so ideally, guests must feed and pet him. If this isn't possible, I can arrange for someone else to stop by and feed him.

Guest access
Walking distance to swimming beach and Stewart Park. A short bike ride (or 30 minute walk) to the Ithaca Farmer's Market, and a five minute drive to downtown Ithaca and Cornell.

The main house has a full kitchen and bathroom, and a bbque grill outside. The cottage has a mini fridge, coffee maker and toaster, and a tv and dvd player. It also has a bathroom.

Other things to note
Kitty feeding instructions:

Instructions are posted on a kitchen cabinet.

Please feed Blue a tiny little scoop of wet frisks cat food or canned tuna in the morning and evening. Food and dishes are on counter for you. One can of wet food = 5 servings of food. Please don't overfeed him, he's already a bit overweight.

Put the can with remaining food in the fridge and use it again later

Please make sure his food bowl in the kitchen has dry kibbles in it at all times

Please make sure his water bowl has fresh water in it.

There is more cat foot (kibbles and wet food) by his food bowl, to the right of the kitchen door, both tins and kibbles in the blue plastic bin.

Wylie Schwartz is a native Ithacan, and a doctoral candidate in art history at Binghamton University specializing in postwar European art. Both of her listings - the Waterburg church and "Signalcamp" (a former switchback to the railroad, ca.1830) were lovingly restored from a derelict state by her beloved friend, British visual artist Paul Chambers, who turned them into works of 'living sculpture.' Wylie views herself as simply one of many caretakers along the way who have looked after these special places, and she loves to share them with others.
