We are 5 minutes from Fort Flager, 25 minutes from charming Port Townsend, and close to hiking, boating, kayaking, and yet a quiet relaxing island home. We are about two hours by car from Seattle but close to the many ferry services from there and Whidbey Island.

The space

Single or couples looking for a get away place. We have two road bikes that can be used, two kayaks with life vests also, coffee maker in the cottage, small fridge, microwave, and a cuisinart grill . Also on the deck we have a charcoal grill and wood burning fire pit that can be used. Note the kitchenette does not have a stove or oven. That said we were able to cook about anything on the griddle while we lived in it taking care next door of my husband's parents until dad passed away. We now live in the main house next to the cottage that was my parent's place.

Guest access

This is a stand alone, separate cottage (220 square feet) with private entrance. There is a separate deck from the main house to use and no need to interact with the hosts.

Interaction with guests

We live next door and have blocked days we will be gone so we will be available for questions or to make recommendations.

Other things to note

There is a small general store (open limited hours) on our island. We are about 10 minutes from Port Hadlock that has a QFC grocery store (24 hour access), post office, five sit down restaurants, a Starbucks in the QFC, drive thru coffee place, one fast food burger place, tavern, two gas stations, hardware store, and Laundromat. Also 10 minutes away are two breakfast sit down places - Farm Reach and Chimicum Diner. Port Townsend is 20-25 minutes away.

Pets can be brought here but we ask that they not be brought into our home or the cottage. My husband has allergies and so inside the homes can cause him to have a reaction but outside is fine. There is a covered deck for use if that works. Sorry about this as I love animals.

Lisa's place is nothing short of gorgeous! The secluded cottage is immaculately maintained, and there are incredible views steps away from the door to the cliffside--we saw otters playing right below us in the water, and the sunrise was incredible! This listing is extremely reasonably priced, and Lisa and Steve were generous hosts--they even made special arrangements for our anniversary! We will definitely come back!

Response from Lisa:
If you would like to host a couple who are considerate, appreciative and personable, I highly recommend Jack and Kenna. They were such great guests! We especially appreciated them texting ahead their estimated time of arrival, so we could plan our evening- major kudos for that! They were such lovely guests and we would enthusiastically welcome them back in the future!

AMAZING!!!! A slice of heaven with the greatest hosts! Gorgeous home and view... they thought of everything to make our stay special and peaceful. We wanna go back immediately! Loved every moment we were there. Wonderful experience!

Response from Lisa:
Alexander and Miki were dream guests! They were thoughtful, respectful and so appreciative of their experience here. Not only did they leave the cottage absolutely spotless, they left a lovely thank you card along with flowers thanking us for their stay- all this even though they were probably exhausted from hiking and taking in all this area has to offer! It's hosting guests like Alexander and Miki that makes our Airbnb experience so gratifying!

Are you looking for a gorgeous place to hang out and spend a nice weekend overlooking the water? Maybe you enjoy waking up and seeing Mt. Baker and Whidbey Island in the distance. Perhaps, you really like well-designed airbnbs that are comfortable, clean and full of amenities. Near to Ft Flagler and public beaches, not so far from Chimacum and Pt Townsend, and yet, comfortable enough to laze the day away eating salted caramels while watching for whales and submarines, Liasa's place is a gem in a land full of wonderful places.

This response is in part why we have decided to host our cottage... to share this magical setting with others. Thank you Ryan for your kind words, and for most of all, for appreciating and respecting it.

Lisa's place is amazing. It is a cozy and very well decorated. House feels new, very clean and warm. Kitchen has everything you need to cook simple meal. You will also have an access to a very nice terrace with a great view. It was convenient to explore the island using mountain bikes, that Lisa provides free of charge. I very much recommend you to stay at Lisa's cottage.

We could not have asked for a better way to spend our Memorial Day weekend and our first time on the Olympic Peninsula. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. We would love to return (and hopefully very soon!). Lisa's home on Marrowstone Island is perfect for anyone in need of a quiet getaway from downtown Seattle or for those looking for a home base to explore the area for the first time. For us, it was both -- the space was beautifully designed and extremely comfortable, while the location on the quaint Marrowstone Island was perfect for an evening bike ride, morning hike up Mount Walker, and a tip to Port Townsend just minutes away. Plus, Lisa and Dave were fantastic hosts who provided everything we could have asked for to round out an amazing trip. Thank you, both!!
