LOCATION/LOCATION/LOCATION: Maison Swiss is situated in one of the most convenient spots for getting to any of the city sites, and it's the best and fastest gateway to the Peninsula. If you're commuting down to Silicon Valley, it's one of the best locations to be, which is why so many people who work for tech companies like Apple, Oracle and Genentech choose to live here in Glen Park. We’re just off Freeways 280 and 101, and far enough South to avoid a lot of the rush hour traffic..
Oh yeah, and there's plenty of free street parking.
But you don't really need a car if your going to be touring the City. Glen Park subway station is an easy 10 minute walk from the flat. On BART it's a 12 minute ride downtown to the Convention Center, the museums, Union Square, the Ferry Terminal and shopping! It’s a direct, 20-minute BART ride to or from San Francisco International Airport. It's 45 minutes to Berkeley in the East Bay.
At the BART station, there's also a MUNI stop (The "J Church") which will take you to neighborhoods like Noe Valley and The Castro.
Also at the BART station, you can catch the #44 Bus that that delivers you directly into Golden Gate Park in under 20 minutes. The 44 stops right in front of the California Academy of Sciences, the de Young Art Museum, and the Japanese Tea Garden. Now how convenient is that?
A GREAT BREAKFAST IS PROVIDED:
The flat is well stocked with Bello's ground coffee, and an assortment of teas. Typically, there's toast and bagels provided for breakfast. When you book the flat, let me know if there's anything special you want me to get, like soy milk, etc.
GLEN PARK is really like a charming little village in the very center of the city. There are a variety of really good restaurants, from our authentic French bistro, Le P'tit Laurent, American fare at Chenery Park, Gialina Pizzeria, La Corneta Taqueria, Eco Sushi, and Osha Thai restaurant.
For breakfast, try Destination Bakery for fresh brioche, Tyger's Coffee Shop, or my favorite, Higher Grounds, where they serve amazing crepes.
The village has a great independent bookstore, the Bird & Beckett, and there’s live jazz on Friday and Sunday nights.
There’s a terrific gourmet supermarket, Canyon Market (see photos). Finally, the Village has its very own Farmer's Market on Sundays, selling local produce from farms all over the Bay Area. Yummmm!
GLEN CANYON PARK: Just one block from the flat is Glen Canyon Park. Unlike any other park in the City, it is situated in a rustic canyon, with 70 bucolic acres . There are easy walking trails along Islais Creek, or more challenging hikes up to the top of the Canyon. Folks come from all over the City for the birding, nature walks, and even rock-climbing.
Glen Canyon Park has a brand new children's playground, and two tennis courts. Let me know if you need tennis rackets. I'll loan you mine!

In my lifetime, I've live in many cities around the world: I can honestly say San Francisco is the greatest of all of them.
