This family-friendly flat is located in SF's Glen Park neighborhood, a charming village-like setting and conveniently located to highway I-280. With its own BART Station, you're an easy 10-minute walk to the station, than around a 10-minutes ride to downtown; Union Square and the Embarcadero and beyond.

The flat is located next to Glen Canyon, a 70-acre, nature reserve.

We love families and have lots of amenities to make traveling with kids a lot easier.

The space

We're located in SF's Glen Park neighborhood, and an easy 10-minute walk from the flat to the Glen Park BART subway station, and minutes from Freeways 280 and 101.

With its on private entrance, MAISON SWISS is a bright, modern and beautifully decorated upstairs flat, with 2-bedrooms, 1-bath/ shower. The flat comfortably sleeps 4 persons, with a queen-sized bed in the master bedroom, and double in the other. And because nights can get chilly here in SF, we have down comforters to keep you cozy- warm.

The fully equipped kitchen has all new appliances: Bosch range, fridge, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, dishwasher— everything you’ll need to prepare a whole meal or just make toast and coffee for breakfast.

The living-room is a cozy place to read, watch TV, or just relax. You'll love sitting on the window seat with a cup of coffee and a book— it's like being up in the tree tops.

There's WiFi, cable-TV. Other amenities include hairdryer, sawing kit, electric iron, and twin air bed.

LOCATION/LOCATION/LOCATION: Maison Swiss is situated in one of the most convenient spots for getting to any of the city sites, and it's the best and fastest gateway to the Peninsula. If you're commuting down to Silicon Valley, it's one of the best locations to be, which is why so many people who work for tech companies like Apple, Oracle and Genentech choose to live here in Glen Park. We’re just off Freeways 280 and 101, and far enough South to avoid a lot of the rush hour traffic..

Oh yeah, and there's plenty of free street parking.

But you don't really need a car if your going to be touring the City. Glen Park subway station is an easy 10 minute walk from the flat. On BART it's a 12 minute ride downtown to the Convention Center, the museums, Union Square, the Ferry Terminal and shopping! It’s a direct, 20-minute BART ride to or from San Francisco International Airport. It's 45 minutes to Berkeley in the East Bay.

At the BART station, there's also a MUNI stop (The "J Church") which will take you to neighborhoods like Noe Valley and The Castro.

Also at the BART station, you can catch the #44 Bus that that delivers you directly into Golden Gate Park in under 20 minutes. The 44 stops right in front of the California Academy of Sciences, the de Young Art Museum, and the Japanese Tea Garden. Now how convenient is that?

The flat is well stocked with Bello's ground coffee, and an assortment of teas. Typically, there's toast and bagels provided for breakfast. When you book the flat, let me know if there's anything special you want me to get, like soy milk, etc.

GLEN PARK is really like a charming little village in the very center of the city. There are a variety of really good restaurants, from our authentic French bistro, Le P'tit Laurent, American fare at Chenery Park, Gialina Pizzeria, La Corneta Taqueria, Eco Sushi, and Osha Thai restaurant.

For breakfast, try Destination Bakery for fresh brioche, Tyger's Coffee Shop, or my favorite, Higher Grounds, where they serve amazing crepes.

The village has a great independent bookstore, the Bird & Beckett, and there’s live jazz on Friday and Sunday nights.

There’s a terrific gourmet supermarket, Canyon Market (see photos). Finally, the Village has its very own Farmer's Market on Sundays, selling local produce from farms all over the Bay Area. Yummmm!

GLEN CANYON PARK: Just one block from the flat is Glen Canyon Park. Unlike any other park in the City, it is situated in a rustic canyon, with 70 bucolic acres . There are easy walking trails along Islais Creek, or more challenging hikes up to the top of the Canyon. Folks come from all over the City for the birding, nature walks, and even rock-climbing.

Glen Canyon Park has a brand new children's playground, and two tennis courts. Let me know if you need tennis rackets. I'll loan you mine!

Possession of a San Francisco Short-Term Rental Registration Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the terms of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41A). Guest access

With its own private entrance, it occupies the entire upstairs area: Living room, 2 bedrooms, bath and fully equipped kitchen. I live on the premises downstairs off the garden. There's a washer/dryer downstairs, which is available. upon request.

We have a motto here at MAISON SWISS.

"If you have any problem, , please tell me. If you enjoyed your stay, please tell a friend."

I live in the downstairs, garden apartment. I'm usually around, or always reachable by phone or text. So do not hesitate to contact me any time, and I'll make sure your problem is fixed.

•You've probably heard we're experiencing a drought here in California. We homeowners are being asked to reduce our water consumption by 20%. So you could really help by taking shorter showers. Also, only run the dishwasher when it fairly full of dishes.

•Could you remember to turn off the porch light.

•Make sure you latch the main gate when going out. Just pull it close and you'll hear a click.

•Occasionally, I'll need access to the flat for general maintenance, and to provide clean towels etc.

•Because of pet allergies, there are no pets allowed in the house.

•While we have no problem with guests having occasional visitors, but please clear it with me first.

•No smoking in the house.

•Check-in time is 3:00p and check-out time is 11:00p. However, often I can be flexible, but please check with me first.

We stayed for four days with our two children aged 11 and 13. Glenn Park was a great place to stay with good local shops and places to eat. The transport into town was easy and we felt like we got a good sense of the city which I am not sure we would have got if we had stayed down town. Mission is a stop away on the underground- again great places to eat and good cinema. Well stocked kitchen, cotton sheets and best pillows we had on our trip. Stephen was super friendly and gave us some great tips.

My parents and husband and I loved staying in Stephen's flat. It was the homiest, coziest place we've stayed in on Airbnb! Stephen lives downstairs and he was very accessible by phone when we had any questions, and he graciously allowed us to stay a few hours late on Sunday, since our flight wasn't until 7pm. Unlike many Airbnbs that feel sterile, this one was clearly lived-in and felt like a home. Lots of books and interesting decor in every room. Stephen had bought us some breakfast items like cereal and milk, and surprised us halfway through with bagels and juice. The walls are a bit on the thin side, so whisper when you're in your bedroom so you don't bother your friends/family sleeping adjacent! Stephen told us that if we could hear his TV or radio at all to let him know, and indeed he did turn it down the one time I asked and we never heard it again, which was very kind and accommodating. We didn't spend much time in Glen Park itself, but there is a grocery store in town, and the BART is about 10 minutes walk away - very easy to get to the Mission and downtown San Francisco. The neighborhood did feel very peaceful, quiet, and safe. We enjoyed the spacious apartment, and had a very lovely stay here. Stephen was all a host should be (and made a great dinner recommendation - Mission Chinese!) and we felt very lucky to have stayed here. Oh - easy street parking too, although it is on a steep hill, so use that parking brake! The walk from the BART is mostly on a very very slight and slow incline, but at the end you will have like 30 seconds - 1 minute of very sharp incline walking. My 90 year old grandmother would struggle, but anybody without serious physical limitations should be fine.

Stephen's flat is really lovely - light, quiet, clean and spacious with everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. We loved Glen Park village too, great wholefood supermarket for fresh produce and healthy takeaway meals, fab bookshop, good cafes and a proper American bar! The transport connections are super convenient - it's very easy to get to and from the airport on BART which is also the quickest way to get downtown (the J line is slower but an interesting ride). It's a 10 minute walk uphill to the flat from the station - you might want to consider a taxi for arrival if you have heavy suitcases as we did, but otherwise it's a very pleasant walk in a nice neighbourhood. Stephen was a great host, offering lots of helpful advice (thank you for saving us an hour waiting for the Mason Powell cable car - the California line is just as exciting, with no queue!) and we'd certainly love to stay at his flat again. Highly recommended.

Stephen was very welcoming. He met us as arranged and was patient with our late arrival due to slow procedures at the airport. He showed us around the lovely apartment and suggested places to visit. He even took us down to the local supermarket and was available when we needed his advice. The apartment lived up to our expectations, was tasteful, comfortable and had a very well equipped kitchen. The location was perfect- in a nice and peaceful part of the city, but close to transport links. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Good apartment in a great location. Very easy to get to downtown SF with local shops, restaurants and station. Free parking is a bonus. Apartment was as advertised. Photos were accurate and the crib and stair gates were a nice touch for families. Stephen was a great host. There when we arrived and full of info for the local area. On hand when required but left enough space as well for when we were relaxing after a long day.

Response from Stephen:
Thank you for the review and your private critique. I take these comments seriously. I plan to hunt down those dust bunnies under the bed and clean out my cobwebs. My goal is to go from 'man-clean' to 'lady-clean.' (Is that sexest? :)

I'm a recovering New Yorker who's enjoying his retirement here in beautiful SF.

In my lifetime, I've live in many cities around the world: I can honestly say San Francisco is the greatest of all of them.

One of my great pleasures in becoming a Airbnb host is helping people discover my City By The Bay, ocean and Silicon Valley.
