A quiet bedroom in a character-filled charming four-square. Incredibly convenient to everything a traveler to Spring Green might want.
The General Store, the library, pharmacy, and grocery store are all less than a block away.
American Players Theatre, Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin, The House on the Rock and local farm stands are all just minutes away.
Perhaps it's not prudent to have an emotional relationship with a house, but I do so love this lovely old gem, and the more time I spend there, the more I'm reminded why.
She features gorgeous woodwork, pocket doors between the entryway and the living room, and character & soul that you won't find in modern houses.
The front porch is lovely to sit on and watch the passersby. We're on the main street in town, but it's such a quiet little town, that it makes for a wonderful place to sit back with a drink and relax in a quintessential Spring Green way.
You'll have access to the bedroom and bathroom, which are both upstairs, as well as the living room, dining room, and kitchen on the main floor. The aforementioned front porch, as well, is yours to enjoy during your stay.
The 2nd bathroom, which is on the main floor, is currently out of commission.
Interaction with guests
As of now, you can expect to have the whole house to yourself, although my daughter and I may stop by if we're going to a show at APT. If we have plans to stay overnight, ourselves, on a night you're considering, I will let you know that before you book.
Additional bedrooms will hopefully become available soon, so that may affect future guests, but I will be try to be respectful of guest's preferences who already have reservations before those rooms are made available.
Other things to note
Central air, Wi-Fi and Cable TV have just been installed. I have found that the A/C doesn't cool the bedroom as much as I'd hoped, but I'm exploring solutions. There are fans available, as well.
The kitchen is in transition, which is to say that I'm adding a cabinet or two here and there. In the interest of supporting a worthy organization and also wanting to tread lightly on our planet, I'm trying to work around what I can find at Habitat for Humanity ReStore. The improvements are nothing substantial, and everything is completely functional. The improvements are very cosmetic.
