Outstanding hospitality

La Chozita is a chalet located in the hills of Andalucia, very peaceful, with amazing panoramas of rolling hills and valleys culminating in distant views of Gibraltar, the Mediterranean sea and the northern coast of Morocco. It is only 3kms from Gaucin, which has restaurants, shops, bank and petrol station. The facilities include the use of a swimming pool with an infinite end view. Use of the swimming pool is almost always exclusive, except in rare cases when the owner has personal visitors.

The space
La Chozita is located at just over 400 metres above sea level and, therefore, it does not have the heat and humidity of the coast in summer. Conversely, the winters are mild because we are in a secluded, well protected location.
Residents at La Chozita can enjoy use of the swimming pool, with it's lovely infinite view and, which used to be shared with the residents of the main house. However, my wife and I are older and hardly use the pool anymore, therefore, use of the pool is virtually completely available to La Chozita visitors.
The accommodation includes a double bed, but the settee in the lounge can be adapted for a 3rd person. We also have a cot available, should the couple have a baby.

Guest access
La Chozita is a completely self contained wooden chalet, with it's own independent parking facilities, living accommodation, an open terrace from which one can enjoy the view, WiFi facilities, international TV and radio services, and the swimming pool is just a short walk down, where one can relax and lay under the sun. The services next to the swimming pool include a toilet, a small refrigerator, a few chairs and sunbeds, a pingpong table, and a badminton court.

La Chozita is located in a very quiet location away from all the noises of other houses or people. It's a place for relaxation and peace and quiet, and ideal for anybody that loves nature, with a beautiful panorama all the way down to the coast and beyond, admiring the far away view of the top of the Rock of Gibraltar and even the top of The Pillar of Hercules, which is a mountain on the Moroccan coast, accross the Mediterranean sea.

My wife and I bought our finca in 1987, but did not come to stay here permanently until my retirement in 1999. I am a retired professional electrical engineer, aged 80, and have worked most of my life with British engineering consultants on very exciting multinational engineering projects, mostly overseas. These included steelworks in Algeria, Venezuela and Malaysia, military bases in Oman, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, etc. I speak fluent Spanish since I was born and educated up to secondary school level in Bolivia, South América. I also speak fluent English since I got my engineering degree in an American university and have lived over 30 years in Epsom, Surrey, England. My wife is English. I also speak good French, which I learnt whilst working 4 years in Algeria. Being able to speak all these languages has added to the enjoyment of working overseas.. I believe that working as an engineer in a huge variety of countries and environments has taught me to deal with everyday problems with confidence, good humour and reasonable expertise, all of which are invaluable whilst living in the Spanish countryside.
