Our friend Mayi and her family runs this cozy bed & breakfast, located in Punta Gorda, an amazing neighborhood besides the bay of Cienfuegos. The house offers three rooms for the visitors, as well as access to gardens, patios, mirador and terraces where the visitor can enjoy their breakfast or just a nice nap. The house is blessed by the proximity of the sea (the bay is just in 30 meters!) and is 5 minutes close to the center of the city. This is a prefect location to explore the sights!

The space

David's message for the guests: Hi! I live in Havana where I take care of more listings. Though I would love to meet you all, I can't be in all places at the same time. You are in good hands with Mayi. If you need to contact me, please call to my cell phone, the number is in your reservation! This is a family house prepared with three independent rooms and very well located in the marvelous area of Punta Gorda, a length of land that goes into Cienfuegos Bay. You will have the opportunity of meeting Mayi and her family, they have been renting their house for a long time, so they are very expert hosts. Though Mayi don´t speak English she knows how to satisfy all your needs and also will help with any arrangements. Anet, her niece, is an English professor at the University and also speaks French, she organizes tours in the city so if she is available don't miss the chance and book with her! The house is beautiful itself (in some way it reminds Bilbo's Bag End :-) very clean, and has several common areas on which you can work, have meals, and just enjoy a peaceful rest. The patio is so green and nice, full of trees and fruits (coconut, banana, mango, and more!), and it has also a terrace in the roof with a great view of the sea and the area. Every room has it's own independent bathroom with cold/hot water 24 hours. This particular room is equipped with AC and one comfortable double bed, safe, and hair dryer, as well as a private terrace.
Mayi's sister in law lives in the house attached, and she also offers three more room for guests. The guests of both houses can access the patio, terrace and gardens.

Guest access

Guests can enjoy the portal at the entrance of the house, the yard, the terrace in the roof (mirador), and the dining room. You can have meals in the areas of your preference. You will get the keys once you reach the house the first day during the check in process.

Interaction with guests

Mayi and her family are very nice, polite and helpful. They can give you a lot of tips about Cienfuegos (restaurants, interesting routes, excursions, bikes for rent, transportation, etc.). They will do their best effort to make your stay unforgettable. They will provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a fee if you request it (though price might vary, generally breakfast are for 5 CUC per person, and lunch/dinner 10-15 CUC per person). Beers, soft drinks and bottled water are also available for a fee. You can also ask the family to wash your clothes for a price to be agreed. If you need an iron Mayi will lend you one. Your can park your car for free in the parking area of the house, it will be safe there. There is a gym in one of the hotels nearby and the neighborhood is great for footing.

Other things to note

The hosts are the best source of information on options for eating, transportation, getting guided tours, or just planing routes if you wanna go to explore on your own. It's better to ask them first about prices to avoid local rogues that overcharge tourists. Traveling to some other places?
