Made from natural materials the private bungalow with inside bathroom is a cool, quiet and beautiful place to reflect on amazing experiences with megalithic culture and broad open savannas. Big windows and folding doors let the gentle breeze flow through. Look out for the race horses training at the racetrack below.
The bungalow is made in the style of a Sumba Adat house, but with modern comforts and a sweet simplicity. There is a queen size bed with mosquito net, a bench, fridge and tea coffee making facilities. Small electric stove available on request.
Call in at the main house in Kampung Raja Prailiu - Jln Umbu Rara Meha No 22 (Rumah Tamu Umbu Ndjaka) to say hello and get the key.
Please take off your shoes in the house.
There is always someone at the main house if you have any questions or issues, I love to chat to guests and help them to get to know about Sumba when I'm around (most mornings and evenings).
Umbu Ndjurumanna (Uman), Sarah Hobgen, our son Jack the extended family are your hosts in Prailiu. Uman's family have lived here for many generations, but Sarah is a relative newcomer having been in Sumba for about 7 years (originally from Australia).
We are keen to introduce you to the sights and sounds of Sumba, with a comfortable place to retreat to, for a good night's sleep (or afternoon nap!).
