I travel often and I hire a cleaning lady to prepare the room. It is unfortunate that a guest has to wait until the review to say something about the cleaning, when the cleaning lady could have had a chance to make any adjustments had she or I been informed. The comparable price for a room like this (private bathroom, private entrance, quiet, good size, with parking and cleaned before the guest arrival) in this area (Bel Air - Ucla) is about $150 plus taxes. I had this room about half the price to compensate for any extra effort that the guest would have had to make (to communicate anything missing). This guest arrived at midnight and most likely did not want to bother me. However, it would have been nice if he had let me know later since he extended his stay. Cases like this also make me wonder if this is why some hosts charge a $100 fee for late arrivals. I thought it was only because of the extra effort the host has to make but it seems that it also makes it difficult for the guest to let the host know if there is anything that needs attention in a timely manner. Hopefully I can keep the fee low if the next guests communicate with me on time so that I can ask the cleaning person to make the necessary adjustments and not have to hire an additional person to check the cleaning lady's work and pass the charge to the guest. Please as a guest, provide the feedback when you arrive because maintaining the room clean is the responsibility of the guest after the room is delivered clean (or according to arrangements made) and it would be unfair that I call the cleaning lady's attention for something they she was not responsible for. Thank you.
