The apartment was exactly as described. Moe made sure we knew he was available if we needed him and he was very flexible with check in/out in order to accomodate our traveling needs. The apartment is located very close to many attractions. The neighbors we met were pleasant and tenants of the house were not noisy. As indicated in the description, there was no air conditioner. The place was still a great value but we did have to purchase 2 fans (1 was already provided) to make the apartment comfortable due to the heat. Because the windows were open, the noisy street as well as loud garbage trucks and other traffic right outside the window was relatively loud.

Response from Moe:
Hi Elleigh, Thank you and Alex for your recent stay. You were a delight to host, sorry if the fans provided did not keep the place cool enough during the recent heat wave; I'm glad to hear you were able to resolve it by getting a couple extra fans. With regards to the noises, unfortunately there is a once weekly garbage pickup that uses a garbage truck; so that is a little noisy when they pull in at dawn once weekly. Also our street is exactly beside Salem State University and a major road artery connecting historic Salem with scenic Marblehead. This is a major road artery also a primary bus route with buses connecting guests conveniently to Revere Beach, Boston, Logan Airport and others. I hope to have future opportunities to host you again. Wishing you safe journeys ahead!

Our host was helpful and easy to communicate with when necessary. The apartment was in a great location, just minutes from downtown Salem, though the street was a bit busy and noisy. I would recommend staying here but I must mention that there is no air conditioner. The first night was warm and when I mentioned it to our host, he went straight out and bought 2 fans...very helpful! Jon L.

Moe's (Nour's? When I booked the apartment, it said Nour) apartment is really nice, spacious, and very comfortable. Both the bed and couch are very comfortable and the giant TV is a great addition. The kitchen is very well furnished, which was very helpful since we were staying for a month. There is no kitchen ventilation / chimney in the kitchen so we were nervous about the fire alarm going off but nothing like that happened. The host was extremely helpful, communicative, and available for pretty much anything. Both check-in and check-out were a breeze. We requested for a late check-out at the last minute and the host was extremely accommodating. That was incredibly kind of him. Like the other review mentioned, there is no A/C in the apartment so the temperature can get a little uncomfortable in the summer. Not the host's fault, but the laundry room in the building is really dirty, with piles of dust everywhere, and it looked like pretty much nobody used it (the washer and dryer both work great though). This is easily mitigated as there is a nice laundromat close to the apartment. The apartment was very clean although it smelt strongly of cigarettes / hookah the first night. It quickly went away in a couple of hours after we opened all the windows. Overall, it was a great place to stay except for a last-minute weird miscommunication. The night of check-out, the host texted me about us leaving the apartment really dirty and requesting an additional $100 cleaning fee. While I don't think we left the apartment pristine, we definitely cleaned up the apartment, washed all the sheets and covers, before we checked out (the host, among other things, mentioned baking soda in a plastic bag in the fridge that we threw out; we didn't know what it was (it didn't have any labels) or why it was there and so we threw it out because we thought it was something left by the previous guests). He also mentioned that we had left the oven really dirty even though we did not ever use the oven in our month long stay. All of this was particularly confusing because the concern and the request did not come through Airbnb and Airbnb recommended to have all claims and disputes done through the website. While I could have communicated to the host, asking him to file a claim through Airbnb, I was travelling right after so unfortunately I could not do it. I absolutely do not believe that the host had any ill intentions and that this was a case of miscommunication. I just wanted to mention it here because it left a slightly bitter taste to an otherwise perfect stay.

Aashish frankly I am shocked by your attempt to shift responsibility for your actions of tarnishing my home during your 1 month stay. When you introduced yourself to me as an upcoming MIT graduate candidate it made me confident to accommodate you and your family last minute for their 1 month visit during graduation season. It should be no surprise to you; that people (me and anyone else) will not appreciate when you leave their home a mess and don't clean behind you after they trust you blindly and extend you and your family all hospitality for a month stay. I'm sorry if my message has left a bitter taste. This is your first time using Airbnb and you should know Airbnb is built on trust; leaving an inaccurate review and abusing host homes is not how you manage that trust and use Airbnb. To Ensure Clarity: You did use the oven heavily you did leave behind an assortment of spices cooked onto the oven top and plenty more left in sachets on the kitchen shelves - but not before sprinkling some of the delightful yellow spices all over my white counter-tops and sinks and staining them yellow because you would not bother to clean it during your stay and left it for me and my cleaners to sweat over for hours. Also a pot full of rice was returned back to the cabinet and found that way by my cleaners. For someone to still insist they did not use the oven is just absurd. I wish you all the best in your future; and hope this stands as on ongoing reminder on your Airbnb account of how NOT to treat peoples homes!

The apartment is lovely. It has wood floors throughout. It's in a quiet neighbourhood. Organising check in and out was super easy and our host was very amenable to our arrival and departure times. He was very friendly and offered lots of help including a lift into Salem one day which was super kind :) The apartment has all the things you need, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, laundry, oven, cooker, toaster. It's clean throughout and the bed is cozy. TV is massive and the sofa has plenty of space to lie out and watch Netflix. The WiFi was fast, and our host couldn't do more to help. There was some fruit and juice and water and bagels when we arrived which was really kind. There was also some coffee and filters for the machine which was super handy. The apartment is perfect for visiting Boston and also for visiting Salem. Salem is brilliant, and quite pretty in parts. The shopping district contains mostly witch related gifts but has some tasty places to eat and great places to drink especially the Salem Beer Works. Prices for eating and drinking out are considerably higher than in the UK, but you're on holiday :) Locally, the Salem train station is 20 minutes away by foot from the apartment with connection into Boston North. Fares were $7.50 single. You can buy tickets from the guard or via an app from (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). You can buses or the underground train from Boston North Getting to the apartment... Uber fares from the airport will cost about $33. By far the cheapest way to get around was to use the bus. The 459 stops right outside the apartment which goes into Salem (5 minutes) or to airport (55 minutes) and costs only $2 - super cheap (terminal C) Alternatively there is a rather convoluted free Silver Line Bus into Boston which takes a while, then underground to Boston North then Train. I recommend the 459 :)
