This is a fabulous, private guest house in our backyard. Easy access to the Rose Bowl if you're planning to attend an event, the monthly flea market, or the Rose Parade. Ideal place to relax--cozy guest house with full size kitchen plus our beautiful deck and gardens for fresh air and California sunshine. Walking distance to trails around the Hahamonga Watershed Park as well as the Angeles National Forest.

Note: Ideal for 2 people, but could accommodate 4 by placing air mattress in kitchen

The space

This lovely guesthouse offers everything you need for a relaxing getaway.

The wood shingled kitchen is bright and airy, looking into the garden. Fully stocked with all cooking essentials, it also has a little table in the corner for two. However, weather permitting, dining outside is always the best choice. We have a few different places throughout the yard that make wonderful dining spots.

The main room of the studio has a very comfortable queen sized bed. Drawers underneath for easy unpacking. While the space is ideal for two people, there is an option of an air mattress that we can place in the kitchen for two more people.

There is a flat screen TV on the wall. THERE IS NO CABLE--only wireless internet and access to Netflix, Hulu (with Showtime), and Amazon.

The bathroom has a charming refinished clawfoot tub, great for soaking in a hot bath--or it has a nice shower with terrific water pressure if you prefer.

There is laundry on sight if you need it.

Guest access

We just had our wedding in our backyard, so our garden is particularly spectacular! Also, the guest house is directly across from our beautiful deck with bench swing and natural gas fire pit--perfect for relaxing at the end of a long day! Its not bad for enjoying the first cup of coffee of the day, either. The way the guest house is situated, it is completely separate from the house and very private. Even sitting on the deck gives you quite a bit of privacy.

Interaction with guests

We are located in the main house on the property, but the guest house is far enough back that you can feel complete privacy, even while enjoying the deck. We're here if you need us, but we're happy to let you do your own thing.

Other things to note

Please contact us if you need flexibility on check-in/ check-out times and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Please do not park in driveway, there is ample street parking available.

The guest house used to be a shack that has been renovated in a most warm and inviting way. The grounds are amazing and Damien and Diane are accommodating and overall good people. It’s near JPL, walking trails and the Rose Bowl but not downtown LA but that’s one of the reasons I loved it.

Damien was a tremendous host. I came in to watch my son play football and this was the perfect spot. Close to the Rose Bowl, and easy access to grocery stores etc.. The bed was very comfortable, and the outside livibg space was great. I enjoyed wine by the firepit after a long day in the sun. The kitchen was well equipped, and made a great breakfast every morning with no problem. The reuse of things in this guest apartment is awesome! I had laundry to do and was able to do it. The trails nearby to hike/run in were a big plus. The communication was great throughout! I appreciated the wonderful stay and the champagne that the host had left for us knowing we had a game to play. Unfortunately we didn't win on the field.. but did with Damiens Airnb!

Damien's place is hands down the best Airbnb experience I've had. He and his wife are so friendly, and went above and beyond for us. The space itself is gorgeous, and the kitchen has everything you'd need (including a food processor!). We cooked every night and ate out on the patio, and then followed up dinner by relaxing in front of the fire pit. Wonderful place, wonderful people.

We absolutely loved our time at Damien and Diane's place! The space was clean and beautifully decorated, having our morning coffee in their beautiful yard was an added bonus. Communication was clear and they were very accommodating and easy to coordinate with. The apartment was even nicer than we expected based on the photos and they even left some wine for us which was a great welcome. I can't say enough good things about this place! Hope to stay here again when we are in town.

Damien and his little house were both great! We loved the huge yard and the beautiful landscaping. The house was very cool and different with all the funky art. It was fun to stay at a place that we knew had so much thought and effort put into it. Damien was a great host, the check in was simple and we enjoyed the small amount of time we got to spend chatting with him. We would absolutely stay again. Highly recommend staying here if you're in or close to Altadena.

Great property close to hiking, and easy access to freeways. Good privacy, respectful host (Damien was awesome), and access to large private yard make this a great getaway, or a great place to do business for those that like to take calls outside. Internet connection was strong and fast.

The neighborhood is nice, with hiking trails and the Rose Bowl nearby. There is an easy self-check-in with a lockbox, but we were also greeted by Diane. She gave us a quick run through of the place, including the nice big backyard, where the guest house is located. There was plenty of privacy, since the cottage is a fair distance from the main house. Damien and Diane were even nice enough to drop us off down at the Rose Bowl for a concert we were attending. It was a great stay!
