Robin and Jim's home was a perfect place for me to stay in Fairbanks, accessible to downtown, yet in a quiet residential neighborhood. My room was clean and well equipped, including lots of information about local attractions, and the bed was super comfortable. I especially enjoyed learning a bit about Robin and Jim's work in different parts of Alaska and I was enthralled with Jim's photographs and book about his observations of Alaskan native culture. I would definitely recommend this spot to other visitors to Fairbanks and would welcome the opportunity to stay again.

Staying at Robin's place is everything you can expect : both Robin and her husband Jim are very welcoming hosts who make you feel at home, the house is well located (close to the aiport, about 15 min drive to downtown), both the room and bathroom were clean. Take time to have a coffee/beer with them, they have so many interesting stories to tell that you will learn a lot from their experiences in Alaska. I definitely recommend this place to stay and won't hesitate to come back!

It's definitely a wonderful house I never live in. It's so clean and cheap, and Robin and her husband are very kind. They have a very cute dog. In addition, the room is pretty clean.

I had a truly lovely experience with Robin!!! If someone would like to sit and "only" listen the experiences and stories what this lovely couple can share with you about the rich history of Alaska and you are not in a hurry during your stay, but rather enjoy the moment what you have there, this is a very unique place for your stay! And, also the ambient is very nice!

Our entire stay at Robin's place was simply amazing, They made us feel like home. We'd love to stay at their place and look forward to talk to them again. Later that night after we checked out, we felt like going back to their place since we had few hours left for my flight and have a little talk like we always did before going to bed :)

Robin's a fantastic place to stay. She and her husband James were very welcoming, and were great at checking in before I got there. They were there to meet me and shared with me their great knowledge about Alaska's culture. Their place is exactly like the pictures, very clean, very nice, very comfortable and warm. It's also very well located. If I am ever up in Fairbanks again I'll be looking to stay here again.

My husband, Jim and I have lived in Alaska for over forty years, first in the bush for 12 years where our son was born and then in Fairbanks where we raised him. Jim is a semi-retired documentary photographer of village life, Antarctica, and even the original Selma March. I have retired from itinerant work in early childhood education, mostly with Head Start programs in the bush. We love reading, the arts, travel, camping in our tiny trailer, and film. Jim loves science and I love to make art and writing. We are connected with the University and Arts communities in Fairbanks.
