We have literally just finished this property and I can guarantee you will enjoy what we have created. The space is clean, contemporary yet cosy with all modern day comforts. The cottage is for couples but we can accommodate a cot. The village is handy for the M6 motorway and the lakes so is quick and easy to get to from most areas. Westoe cottage is a 17th century conversion and we have tried to keep as much of the character of the original building and yet be fresh and appealing to all ages.

Joanne's cottage is absolutely stunning. Very homely, bright, clean & tidy. Ideal location for access to all parts of the Lakes. Great village pub just 5min walk down the road. Highly recommend.

Thank you Paul for taking the time to post this review. I am delighted that our newly renovated cottage is proving a hit. I think the key to what people want is just what you mentioned and I try to make it somewhere just that ,relaxed and homely. The pub is great and we are so lucky it opened this spring. Thankyou again Joanne

Joanne's place is really a gem. Such a lovely quiet neighbourhood close to a local pub with great food and is an ideal base for exploring the lakes without being surrounded by touristy spots so you can escape to this lovely nest when you want some down time. The pictures don't do it justice - the kitchen is all brand new and well kitted and there are so many lovely decorative touches that make it even more homey. Would definitely recommend it :)

Thank you Kat for this review I am glad you both enjoyed your stay and delighted that you found it even better than the pictures- which I think is a real bonus. I love creating somewhere I would want to stay and adding all the little extras, it makes it all worthwhile when others also appreciate and enjoy what we have made. Like you say a nest to come and escape to. Thank you so much Joanne

A fantastic place to stay. Extremely clean, comfortable, bright but cosy, fresh, well-equipped kitchen, great shower... just perfect. Fresh flowers and biscuits waiting for us on arrival and great little courtyard to sit and enjoy a cuppa. Very quite and peaceful area. Didn't try the local pub, cottage was so lovely and well-equipped that we opted for eating in during our stay. Good Wi-Fi if you need it. Perfect place for all seasons and one to revisit.

Westoe Cottage was the perfect cosy hideaway. The cottage has been very tastefully refurbished and is an ideal space for two people to stay. Only a short drive from the main sites, the area was quiet and beautiful. The ideal city break! Joanne was a lovely hostess. I would highly recommend!

My 2 year old daughter and I stayed here for a 3 day trip to the Lake District. It worked out well and is such a lovely place, cutely decorated and well thought out. The only thing I'd mention is know it's a rural area, no phone service for miles and quite far from the main Lake District area. But if your willing to drive (if that is where you are headed) it is quite an adorable little place and met our needs well. I was also quite thankful for the good wifi! So with that, we enjoyed Joanne's cottage and appreciated a lovely place to stay. :)

Response from Joanne:
We are only 15 minutes drive from Lake Ullswater and 30 minutes from Keswick but we are not near Windermere and have tried to give our guests details of where we are situated. I have updated some information on the website that unfortunately had been missed when setting up the property regards access. It is good to get feedback and as guests are staying there unlike us, they see and use things unlike us. I'm glad you enjoyed the cottage and how we have furnished it and yes it is rural. Best wishes Joanne
