Beautifully appointed micro apartment (What's a micro apartment? See FAQ below) located in gentrifying urban historic area just two blocks east of downtown. Apartment building is private and equipped with electronic entry. This unit is suitable for up to two adults (max). The property is within walking distance of downtown, trolly, bus and close to major freeways. Walmart grocery store is just two blocks away. Ample street parking. Views of downtown and Coronado Island from shared use balcony.

The space

This is a unique space in a vintage (historically designated/approx. 100 years old) apartment building. Although vintage, electrical and plumbing are all updated, so no need to worry about hot water, etc. Apartment is suitable for up to two adults, but no pets. The sleeping area is loft-style, which means the bed is located on a built-in platform (loft) raised above the bathroom and kitchenette areas. Access to the loft is by way of a pull-down ladder (ladder rated for persons up to 200 lbs.). The loft sleeping area has a comfortable queen size mattress, sheets, pillows, and comforter. There are also storage cubbies for clothes, shelf for your phone/drink, ceiling fan, master switch to shut off all lights, and outlet for electronic devices. Kitchenette includes two-burner cooktop, mini electric oven, microwave oven, k-cup coffee maker, tea pot, bar size refrigerator, and basic kitchen cooking/dining items. Guests can eat or work at the two person bar (w/barstools). Bathroom has towels, hair dryer, toilet paper and basic convenience items. Tiny living room area has a lounge chair with two windows for lots of natural light (currently no TV, but coming soon). Entire building is nonsmoking (including vapes and other products). All guest are expected to be courteous to long-term residents, including respecting quiet time (after 10:30pm). Smoking/vaping is permitted in backyard on first floor only. RESERVATIONS FOR MORE THAN 14 DAYS REQUIRE ADVANCE APPROVAL FROM HOST.

WHAT IS A MICRO APARTMENT? A micro apartment is a uniquely designed small apartment with the basic essentials often found in European and some larger U.S. cities. All areas are compact, yet comfortable. This particular apartment boasts a queen size bed, private bathroom and private kitchenette; many micro apartments have small beds and shared bathrooms, but not ours! Although micro apartments historically were used for long-term residents with simple needs, today they're more commonly used for short-term guests. Our apartment is modern and updated for the needs of today's guests in mind.

If you don't like small unique spaces, please consider other listings. We want you to be happy!

WHY A SECURITY DEPOSITS: Many AirBnB hosts require a security deposit in the event guests damage the property, damage the furnishings or steal the furnishings. The security deposit is similar to when a guest checks-in to a hotel. Hotels place a hold on a guest's credit card in case of damage to the room, theft or incidentals. Fortunately, we have not had any of these bad experiences, but deposits help assure such!

CLEANING FEE: This is a standard practice in the vacation rental industry. We charge a nominal fee to have the apartment cleaned after you check-out. Please note that cleaning fee does not include washing the dishes or excessive messiness left by guests.

I booked this place as it was close to SDCC ( 25 minutes walk ) . When I arrived the place was clean, neat and had everything I needed. I especially appreciated having a small kitchen area so I could cook breakfast every day instead of wasting time eating fast food - the convention itself was primarily fast food options so being able to cook a good, wholesome breakfast was very nice. Kevin always responded quickly to my questions. I really enjoyed tiny apartment living and will definitely be back.

I am working professional in the real estate industry. I manage leased apartments and homes and I broker real estate sales transaction. In addition to managing and brokering properties, I own several of my own and have become somewhat of an expert in remodeling, especially on a budget. As a traveler, I'm pretty easy going. I don't need an overly fancy place, but can appreciate one if that's what I select. My main needs are clean and comfortable. Further, hosts should know that as a property owner myself, I am very respectful of others, their personal property and of course, diversity of living situation.

When I'm not working or traveling, I can often be found enjoying time with friends, my 9.5 year old extremely well-behaved dog named Miss Pickles, or quiet time. I also enjoy visiting Palm Springs where I also have a small home.

While I enjoy going out for drinks at a club on occasion, I tend to prefer more intimate gatherings with friends at one of our homes or a restaurant. Being around quality people interests me far more than the quantity of people. That said, when I'm out, some say I'm the life of a party as I tend to have a pretty good sense of humor.

If you host a place for me, I think you'll find me to be a good guest and one that you would extend an invitation to again. I do not smoke nor do I bring my pet on my trips, unless we've discussed such in advance. I'm new to using Airbnb, so I guess I don't have a rating yet, but that will soon change. I look forward to meeting you in the future!
