I am renting out the small but cosy studio in my house which is well located between the main train station and the center of Ghent. Luxurious shower, living-room with kitchen, comfortable mezzanine. You enter the studio on the top floor via the stair hall and therefore remain completely independent. HiFi and WiFi, Books, CDs and leaflets about Ghent are at your service. I am there to help you out if needed! You can park your car for free at 10 minutes walking distance under the Albertbrug.

The space

This studio is located in a typical middle class house of Gent. On top of the house, a small loft studio is waiting for new Airbnb-guests! I have renovated it with help of my friends from Moupila (architecture and design) and some other professionals. It has definitely become the best place of the house and it has character and an original style. Regularly, I add something or try to improve it. The ground-surface is only 40m2 but it feels big because the bedroom is on a platform (and you sleep there very well). Everything is compact but sits on the right place: bathroom, kitchen, salon, desk-office. Many couples had a great time here because you wander as tourists in the romantic and historical city of Ghent but you can come to relax at home, in your own private studio. It is simply cosy: you will be living a feeling of comfort, warmth, and relaxation in Ghent. Temperature is naturally constant thanks to an excellent isolation, three velux windows that provides light and fresh air and a central heating which complete during winter days. During summer, you still can open windows thanks to protection against mosquitoes.

Guest access

Guests have there own studio on top of the house, so they can easily survive there for a few days :-). Sarah and I also live in the house. On level zero, there is the living room and kitchen for us. Just come and say hallo or have breakfast or dinner with us, when time suits. Sitting next to the wood fire in winter, it is possible. Attention: the studio is at level 3, that's why I help guests bringing in their luggage as much as I can.

Interaction with guests

If you wish to come and say hallo or have once breakfast or dinner with us, it is all possible when our time-schemes allow it. Sitting around the wood fire in winter with a belgian beer is also possible ;-). We share a whole list of information about pubs and restaurants in Ghent. Personal advice can help you to make an easy choice, especially for the first day. I am always there to help you if any other problem occurs. Just ask for it, if you need something, mostly borrowing doesn't cost anything. We live with three people in the house (my girlfriend Sarah, me and another friend Abel), so you may never feel completely alone in the house.
But off course, you have your own private spacious mini-loft and we fully understand if you just want to spend some romantic time together or if you are just adventurous willing to discover everything on your own. Sometimes, we have also limited interaction possibilities (work, own holidays). Anyway, free wifi and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) will help you too.

Other things to note

There is a middle sized fridge. I have some basics for breakfast and cooking (coffee, cereals, tea, sugar, oil, ...). Towels are provided. Wifi. Sound equipment with blue tooth, USB, CD, iPod,... There is no TV. Comfortable desk-office. Good basis to work here for some days during conference or courses.

House Rules
Check in time is flexible
Check out by 12AM (midnight)

"Don't do any things that you shouldn't want to be done in your own house." My collection of music and books are waiting for you (!), but off course I expect you to respect the others coming after you who wants to listen or read them too.
Respect the other habitants when entering the house. Limit noise sources after midnight. Help us to sort and recycle waste. Try to behave climate-friendly: mind that hot water and lights use lots of electricity.

Great place! Cosy, warm atmosphere, very convenient location in walking distance from Gent-Sint-Pieters (Ghent train station) and near Gent university, quiet spot at night, enjoyable rooftop view, the place feels somewhat magical. And the host was kind and helpful! Highly recommended.

The studio is conveniently located and has a lot of character. The bathroom is clean, the kitchenette has all the necessary utensils. The bed on the mezzanine is very cozy. The host is great, communication and check-in/out was smooth. A real Airbnb gem and an amazing place for a short stay for one or a couple.

This is a small but comfortable studio with a surprising number of features - full kitchen, sound system, wi-fi, large bathroom, double bed - and only ten minutes walk away from the Sint-Pieters station. Tomas is a great host and communication was good during our stay. Highly recommended!
