Ava’s Hideaway- Such an appropriate name for this private studio apartment tucked away in a modest and safe community. Ava and Mark are wonderful hosts! My stay was for 2 weeks, you have your choice of being sociable to hang out with Mark and Ava or keeping to yourself for privacy. I recommend at the very least, one dinner night with Mark and Ava to get a good family feeling of inclusiveness and being able to taste Ava’s delicious cooking, always fresh vegetables, spicy steamed okra with homemade crab cakes with a kick. One of my favorite Belizean dishes Ava served was chicken with a stew array of savory vegetables and fresh corn on the cob. So incredibly delicious!
The studio apartment is very roomy. You enter your own private entrance to the left of the home, up 2 steps, the auto security light comes on and you key in your security code. First floor is washer/dryer. Then you have a key for your studio entrance, up a flight of stairs once inside. The area is very clean, lots of natural light and windows. It’s an open floor plan that has a nice large wardrobe nicely positioned as a divider to separate into a large sitting area from the sleeping area and private bathroom. The sitting area is very comfortable with a sofa/futon sleeper, table, recliner, TV, refrigerator, microwave, electric hot water kettle. I appreciated the coffee, oatmeal, chips and dip goodies.
While I was there, Mark checked in with me regularly to ensure I had everything I needed. It was important to him that I enjoyed my stay. In an immediate response to some suggested improvements, Mark installed a lovely new ceiling fan, added a vanity mirror, and put shelving in the bathroom for some lovely new organizational improvements. This is a great quiet place for travel or business. Parking right in front. I will be back!
