We spent a week here for a family ski vacation. We originally planned to stay for five days, but when the price for a week was cheaper, we booked the whole week. The booking process was smooth and Alessandra was very professional. She responded promptly to multiple requests for information.
We were a little disappointed when we first arrived, because we expected something more modern. The flat is straight out of the 1970s – very retro! Aside from the modern appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, range), it is not modern at all. That being said, it is very clean and well kept. It shows a bit of wear but not much.
People have written that it can fit 7 people comfortably and that it is bigger than it appears on the pictures. I don’t agree. We were five (two adults, three kids) and it was the perfect size for us. Two extra people would have been too much.
The location of the flat is excellent – restaurants and a ski rental shop down the hill and an excellent (albeit small) grocery store up the hill (open every day in the morning and evening). We got lots of snow, so we were able to ski straight back to the flat (it is a 100 m walk to get to the slopes, access trail 54). Be aware that trail 54 doesn’t have snowmaking, so if there isn’t natural snow, it won’t be open and you'll have to take the ski bus. Check the status on the ski resort website.
The beds were very comfortable, although the mattress on the master bed was soft. The baby cot was quite new and very clean. The top bunk is a bit dangerous, I think, as the railing isn’t very secure and could be knocked off and fall onto the person sleeping below.
I have a few minor complaints with the accommodation that could easily be fixed. One, the locks on the doors of the building are worn out and desperately need to be replaced – we couldn’t get the key to work and were locked out of the building for a time. Two, the flat is very cluttered with the owners' personal effects. I would recommend removing these so that guests have more place to put their things and replacing family pictures so it isn’t as obvious that they are staying in someone else’s home. Three, while Alberto, the porter, is very friendly and helpful, he doesn’t speak a word of English, but he speaks A LOT in Italian. Even when it is clear that you don’t speak any Italian, he still talks on and on, which makes you afraid that he is saying something very important about the flat that isn’t understood.
These are very minor complaints that don’t ruin the experience at all. On the whole, it is a great place to stay in a fantastic location. Just make sure that you aren’t expecting the most modern flat and you will be very satisfied.
