The space
Nevis MorningStar Estate Cottage
Historical property featuring the rebuild of several facilities on the remains of the former sugar cane plantation "MorningStar Estate". This comfortable one bedroom cottage with a private court yard in the old warehouse of the plantation features one bedroom with a bathroom, a fully fitted American style open kitchen and a living room.
Further the house has a small porch towards the garden and a large courtyard in the old ruins of the plantation, covered by a large gum tree.
The construction is traditional volcanic stone and the ground floor is tiled. Through its positioning in the old structures of the former plantation it offers unique looks and traditional ‘colonial’ style atmosphere. The bedroom features a traditional 4 poster bed with its traditional mosquito netting offering room for two. The living is equiped with a ceiling fan. However given the location of the property we enjoy a constant and comforting flow of air making air-conditioning superfluous.
The property features modern comfort with Wifi and internet but we have chosen not to have cable TV. The lush gardens invite for small explorations of the various tropical fruits growing on the property as much as a wide array of unique flowers and plants.
The place is children friendly with plenty of room for children to explore. There are no poisonous creatures or plants on the property. A large pool (17/52 feet) with its own pool house gives room for relaxation and recreation on the property. When using the pool with children, it is the responsibility of the guests to watch over their offspring. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted to use the pool unobserved.
The property offers privacy, exclusive and unique views, close proximity to the beaches on the Caribbean and the Atlantic side of the island. Charlestown is about 2 miles down the road from the property (650 feet above sea level) offering all shopping opportunities and a traditional historical town center. Nevis has an abundance of dining opportunities, ranging from cosy beach bars (Double Deuce, Chrishi Beach, Gallipot) to luxury style dining in the close neighborhood of our property (Hermitage Plantation Inn, Golden Rock, Montpellier Plantation).
We can arrange for transport from and to the St. Kitts airport (SKB), help with car rental and offering you assistance with all leisure time activities (hiking tours, horseback, sailing, snorkeling, diving, biking etc).

Guest access
The property offering 3 different guest houses has a main entrance next to the main island road. Parking on the property is available. Each of the 3 guesthouses has its own privacy.

Other things to note
Getting around the island can be done in many different ways, using public transport, rental cars or bikes. We can help with the latter.

Charlestown, Saint Paul Charlestown Parish, St Kitts & Nevis

The property is on the edge of a smaller local community, up on the hill about 2 miles from Charlestown. There are several other plantations close to us all being build out into fancy locations offering dining and residential facilities. (Hermitage, Montpellier and Golden Rock)

My wife and I life mostly in Vienna and occasionally in Brussels where I still run an office. Background: I am a corporate psychologist, traveling a great deal for my work. I love urban environments and enjoy decorating and rebuilding old places. Brussels is one of my favorite cities as it has a lot of diversity, great places to eat out and is very central in Europe, easy to commute to the coast,go to Paris, London or Amsterdam or visit art galleries in Cologne. Antiques in Brussels are still one of the best places to hunt for opportunities. A city full of fun and 'savoir vivre'.
