Both hosts were very welcoming, however, everything was dirty. The linens and towels smelled of wet dog, and there were an unacceptable amount of roaches and fruit flies. The house seems to have not been cleaned in a long time, and gets very hot and stuffy during the day, that we had to avoid being there the full seven nights of our stay. Out by 9am, back in by 7pm. Unfortunately, we checked out leaving the home cleaner than it was when we arrived. The inside of the home did not compare to the photos. No mention of a missing microwave. Dishwasher was very, very loud. For the amount of money we paid, the home should have been clean and roach free, with fans in the living room that can go faster than the lowest setting. Sorry Shane and Lisa, however, the accommodations were unacceptable for the amount of money we paid. Just the cleaning fee you charge alone if professionally done, would have addressed the majority of our concerns. My wife wanted to complain right away, but since this was our first Airbnb experience, inconveniencing us even more on our first day, and with two boys, didn't feel like we'd accomplish anything positive. You brag about five-star quality, but we've vacationed on the dime before, with much, much better accommodations.

Lisa is a very kind person. The house does not match the description which was very disappointing . The description said new remodeled but the house ha mold on the ceiling, open electricity very old showers indoor. It had a beautiful outdoor shower which made it much better. Overall I would not book the house again.

Response from Lisa:
This is the first and only negative review we have ever received on either of our vacation rentals that we own in 4 years. We pride ourselves in being 5 star hosts and have only been rewarded with good reviews until the recent one. This review comes unexpected. The reviewer is very kind as well and German speaking and there may have been a language barrier. She never expressed any of her concerns of the house so it was not possible for us to address them. To address her review. The kitchen has been remodeled with a stainless steel sink, refrigerator, and new lighting fixtures. The countertops, cabinets, tile, island, and other appliances were remodeled a few years prior around 2005. The bathroom shower is a standard white basin shower. The water heater was replaced in 2013 and has excellent heat and pressure. The shower head is also new but has accumulated water spots over time. I'm really not sure why she would say it was very old. There is some slight mold on the living room ceiling that we have been addressing. When the ceiling was painted they used an inferior paint and at this point it needs to be sand blasted and completely repainted. We had lived in the house from 2012 to just recently June 2017. We had never had any problem with the ceiling and had our 1 year old daughter in there for 1 year. It is a bit unsightly I admit but should not be a concern for our guests. Lastly, I have no idea what she is referring to about exposed electrical. I literally can not think of any specific place where the electricity is exposed. There is one spot where some old television cable is coming out of the wall that I have coiled and bundled but this is very different then exposed electrical. I'll check to see if one of our previous guests cracked an outlet plate that I am not aware of during the cleaning tomorrow morning. If so I will replace it. Again we had our daughter live there from birth until 1 years old and had the place baby proofed so I would definitely not leave a bunch of open electricity.

Warm and welcoming stay, on a great part of the island! Thank you to Lisa and Shane for such a great stay! It's just what we needed; comfortable bed, amazing interiors that felt like coming home, and close to great sightseeing stuff (list of recommendations from the host were awesome), and a perfect quiet beach was just across the street. We were so thankful for help booking tours and sorting out details. These two know the island so well! Highly recommend ;-)

Amazing trip right by the Ocean up on North Shore! Lisa is such a sweet host with so many resources. We went paddle boarding, snorkeling, and biking with Lisa's equipment. We adored all the many beaches very close to her home. We felt very at home and were even able to use their lovely decorated kitchen/home and eat some fresh vegetables from their garden. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for more of that "North Shore" relaxed beach feel during their trip. Laie, Waimea, Sunset beach, Sharks cove, Hailewa, and Turtle Bay are all within 15 minutes or less! Most definitely recommend!

Lisa welcomed us in her very nice home and gave us plenty of information about what to visit in the area. We had a good chat and enjoyed staying in her home. Her dog is adorable too. We would recommend to stay at her place.

We enjoyed our stay for the most parts, the hosts are very friendly, but we hardly saw them. The location is nice and only 5 minutes walk to the closest beach. It was quite quiet as well, which is nice bonus. The only problem we had is that bedroom lock was broken so we could not really lock the door, which was a bit odd and did not give us much privacy.

I live with my husband and our two beautiful dogs. I can't live without a surfboard, yoga mat or my vibram shoes. I love being in the water whether that's in the sea or under a waterfall. My favorite places to travel are Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand, Fiji, and Samoa. I'd like to see Europe and kayak down the Grand Canyon. I hate TV but love movies and good music. I'm vegan but I don't care if you love meat. I am a wonderful host. I keep a very clean home and always wear a smile.
My life motto the light to light the world!
