Old Stone Cottage is set in the sleepy hamlet of Treskilling near Luxulyan in mid Cornwall.

With a well equipped kitchen, cosy lounge, log burner and two comfortable double bedrooms, the cottage offers a perfect location to unwind, relax and recuperate.

Outside, the garden is perfect for lazy family days and alfresco dining. A raised vegetable garden is kept well stocked for guests to use during their stay.

We welcome people from all backgrounds to our beautiful, comfortable Cornish cottage.

The space

Close to the World famous Eden project, the cottage has easy access to both the north coast, for surfing and water activities and softer south coast, ideal for long lazy days exploring rock pools, sailing and swimming.

The port of Charlestown is short drive away and one of the many locations used for the recent filming of Poldark.

A 20 minute drive will take you to The Lost Gardens of Heligan, 200 years of garden history, mystery and romance, founded by our very own Tim Smit, worth reading his book before your visit, (copy on the bookshelf).

Further afield you will discover the delights of Kynance Cove, one of the worlds most spectacular beaches. A visit to the inspiring St Michaels Mount in West Cornwall will not fail to impress.

For foodies, Cornwall will not disappoint. Check out Rick Steins Seafood Restaurant in Padstow or Jamie Oliver's Fifteen Cornwall, Watergate Bay. For a more rustic food experience, try 'The Hidden Hut' on the Roseland Peninsula or my personal favourite, The Mexico Inn, Longrock, near Penzance.

Interaction with guests

When possible I will be available to greet guests on their arrival, however if I am not, I will make arrangements with you for key collection. I will be accessible via email and / or phone throughout your stay.

Other things to note

The cottage has a resident cat 'Pudding'. She is very lovely and no trouble. She lives outside in the conservatory and it would be great if guests could feed her regularly (instructions & cat food will be provided).

Lovely cottage in a pretty, rural location but within half an hour from many nice towns, villages and beaches, as well as the Gardens of Heligan and Eden project on your doorstep. Pudding the cat was a treasure - very friendly and our daughter loved her. The garden was cute, with some nice fresh veggies to pick and a table to sit out on and have a drink. There was a well stocked library of books to relax with and the kitchen was nice and big to dine all together in the evening. We had a problem with a leak but but Sally was quick to respond and sort.

We ( a family of five) have just spent a wonderful three days at Sally's 'Old Stone Cottage' . It is such a beautiful home- very peaceful and cosy, with well stocked kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and even a gorgeous cat called Pudding to keep us company in the evenings! The cottage is conveniently situated for many lovely days out ( we visited St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Charlestown, Pentewen Sands beach, and Lanhydrock house.) We were sad to leave, and hope to return again one day! Thankyou Sally.

Old Stone Cottage is a very comfortable well equipped place to stay. Lovely quiet rural position, close to St. Austell. Sally was a great host, giving us tips on the best beaches to visit locally. We all loved Pudding the cat too.

It's almost impossible not to relax and get away from it all at Old Stone House. If you like traditional rural idyll, with a well equipped kitchen, big farmhouse table, log burner, squidgy living room carpet, fluffy white towels and a borrowed holiday cat (who is friendly and zero bother) then this is the place. If you feel like reconnecting with the outside world - it does also have sky and good wifi and is a really short drive back to main roads. We travelled with two children (5 + 5 months) and on arrival we found there was fresh milk, tea/coffee, a bottle of bubbles and really pretty fresh floral arrangements from the charming garden - a very welcoming 'something' for everyone! Thank you for hosting us Sally.

Sally, is a great host, the cottage is quiet and out of the way and super comfortable. We loved the scenery around and the country side walking. The Kings Arms, only a 1KM walk away served great food too. All in all a recommended place for a visit.

A lovely cottage with lots of character - situated an ideal location for all parts of Cornwall - Newquay, St Ives and not forgetting St Michael's Mount - one of our favourite places to visit. We had a great time in Cornwall despite the rain - made more special by Pudding the cat who comes with the house! It was easy to keep in touch with Sally and she also made sure we were ok too. Thank you Sally for being a great host - we would recommend this place and Cornwall.
