The space
Old Westbrook Farm is a large Somerset farmhouse dating back to about 1780. It is now a comfortable family home which sleeps 14 to 20 people. The farmhouse has some old and some modern parts. It is available to rent for selected weeks over the period May to September 2018.The house has seven double bedrooms each with its own bathroom or shower room. The master bedroom has a dressing room and two bath/shower rooms. On the ground floor there is a dining room which also has a snooker table, a large sitting room with open fireplace and piano, 2 small sitting rooms, two studies that can be used as single bedrooms, a large kitchen plus breakfast area, a small second kitchen with breakfast area, a bootroom, laundry/pantry and a downstairs shower room. The house has wifi, music systems in the dining room and backhouse siting room, TVs with Sky in the big sitting room, backhouse and master bedroom. The whole of the ground floor is on the level with no steps. Old Westbrook Farm is completely private, has large gardens and 5 acres of fields with rare breed sheep, a few pigs and Dexter cattle. The garden is in the front of the house, mainly lawn with some trees and flower beds. There is a terraced area outside the front door with a table and chairs. There is a lower garden, again with a lawn surrounded by trees and shrubs. On the opposite side of the drive is a field where the sheep often graze. Off this field there is little orchard and pig area. The grounds are surrounded by walls and fences and the drive has an electric gate, so it is safe for children. There is parking in the yard or by the drive where the garden meets the fields. As you’d expect with a 200 year old farmhouse, the decorating isn’t perfect, lots of things might be described as quirky and rustic. A lot of the furniture is old and comfortable – clean but shabby chic! By special arrangement a yurt sleeping 4 can be made available in the lower garden. See pictures for layout of ground and first floors.

Guest access
The whole house is available apart from one locked room. We like to be private when we're on holiday so we assume you will too - we'll send you key codes and directions but you won't see us - any problems just ring or text

Old Westbrook Farm is close to many lovely Somerset towns, beautiful country side and attractions like Longleat, Cheddar Gorge and Bath. We are about half a mile from the village of Evercreech which has pubs, a grocery, bakery and pharmacy.

Frome (more listed buildings than Bath) Wells and Glastonbury are all a short drive away and Bruton - recently voted hippest town in the South West and with a world class art gallery, Hauser and Wirth, and two excellent restaurants is just 3 miles

Judith and Tony bought Old Westbrook Farm because Tony is from Somerset and we wanted to bring the children up in a rural area with space to keep some animals, but with easy access to Bath, Bristol, Wells - England's smallest city.
Close by we have the beautiful Somerset levels. We are just 3 miles from the Glastonbury Festival, the same distance from the Hauser and Wirth Gallery and the At the Chapel restaurant in Bruton, a stones throw from the Royal Bath and West Showground. Great country pubs including the Bell here in Evercreech and the Queen Victoria in Priddy, not far from Cheddar Gorge. Frome is about 12 miles away and Longleat another ten minutes beyond.
Westbrook Barn seems to be very popular as a place for family get togethers - often 3 generations using Somerset as a convenient, as well as beautiful place to meet. Some people are using the Westbrook barn for a friends reunion or getaway. And we are pleased to have had people from Netherlands, France, Germany, Spain and the USA staying here to explore the English countryside.
