Most people say to us, Wow! There is so much space!
Your vacation awaits in this charming, renovated home of 2 large bedrooms plus one sleeping nook. Sleeps 6 easily. Immense open concept living/dining room full kitchen laundry facilities. Lovely views of the village. Walking paths to the Saturday market and beach...15-30 minutes to 4 ski hills, tubing, hiking. Near Granby zoo, Bromont water park...Only 1. 15 hr from Montreal!
This is a 200 year old cottage that was converted into shops and apartments in the early 20th Century. We have restored the upper floors back to their original splendor-original pine flooring, exposed beams. We have recently completed a large renovation project on the apartment making it an even more charming space. It is a beautiful spot that overlooks the historic library park as well as our iconic Coldbrook Park and pond. Your stay in our apartment is a home away from home. There are three full bedrooms, including one in the loft, two bathrooms, a big kitchen which is fully stocked and living room and laundry facilities. The apartment is huge! You will not lack for space.
We have made sure to include everything you would want in your own home! A fully stocked kitchen-with real pots and pans and dishes and cutlery that also look as good as they are functional. There are extra linens and blankets, internet service and cable television to relax after a day spent outside!
Interaction with guests
We are always onsite and can always be reached if there is a problem. We own the gym on the first floor, so we are nearby if necessary.
Other things to note
This is a quirky, cute appartment! We think you will love it as much as we do! However, it is important to note there is a room in the loft which is only accessible by a ladder-NOT for very small children or older clients.
This is our home. Of course we ask you to treat our place like your own. No wet shoes or boots throughout the place... and any problems, damage should be reported right away. This is especially true of fridge spills. We expect you to clean up anything that will require extra time from our cleaning person or we will charge you for that extra time. Unfortunately, fridge spills have been a problem in the past. Pets are welcome and there is place to walk them in the back-clean up is necessary. HOWEVER-If your pets go on the furniture, please vaccuum afterwards. There is a vaccuum in the front hall. This lovely space is shared by pet people and non-pet people so we ask that you respect this. This is a non-smoking establishment.
The loft sleeping area is not a playroom nor is it meant for small children. Children are welcome in the main floor bedrooms only.
We ask that before you leave, please fill and start the dishwasher, please empty the fridge of any food before you leave. And sheets should be stripped and left beside the washing machine before leaving.
We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we love our home.
I am a long-time resident of Knowlton. Although I moved away for 17 years, I came back when I had my children to be closer to my family. My parents and siblings run a furniture manufacturing company called, Camlen Furniture, also situated in Knowlton for the past 35 years!
We purchased this crazy, old building in the middle of "downtown" Knowlton 4 years ago and basically had to rip it down to its post and beam original structure. It had been renovated so many times over the past 150 years that we got rid of 8 LARGE containers of construction crap before being able to see the original beauty it once was. That is what we have rebuilt upon.
On the first floor, is our town gym-which is homey and well-loved by all the members! We also have a few businesses on the first floor.
We have often rented houses when going on vacation and since we love Knowlton so much, we are sure you will too. We live only a hop, skip and a jump away from the building, so we are always nearby to help with anything from recommending a restaurant or cafe or where the best ski hill is!
We look forward to getting to know you!
