Old Cruck Frame house with eco converted barn. During the coronavirus we ensure the place is wiped with surgical spirt prior to your arrival, we will leave the key for you and keep a distance to ensure none transmission of the virus. Wonderful view of the Tanat Valley from the glassed first-floor studio. This is the end part of an old farmhouse. Powered by the sun and an eco pellet burner.

The space
Beautiful oak timber frame with solid oak flooring, built by local artisans. Features include steam-bent ash, oak and elm spiral staircase, Elm kitchen worktops. Lay in bed admiring the beautiful Tanat valley bellow, this is one of the best views in the area.
We have central heating but the upstairs is glass so you will need to light a wood fire in winter. You are welcome to bring your own wood but we can supply you at £5 a bag in winter.
This is part of a housing cooperative, other people live here but we endeavour to give you privacy. The house is rustic and if you are used to a villa in Spain then this is not for you. We use this space when it is not booked out.

Guest access
This is one end of a Crook house, private access for guests only. It has its own kitchen and bathroom. The front room has a sofa bed and log fire. The dining table seats 4 but there is a breakfast bar with two stools.
When entering the village of Llanrhaeadr Ym Mochnant from the east (Oswestry), drive through the village and you will start ascending a hill. Around 600 yards up this hill there will be a farm gate on your right with a small sign on post saying Penylan. Go through gate and proceed to end of track (300 yards). Penylan

Other things to note
We live off the main road, the house is up a track and on a footpath. There are two gates and visitors are reminded to close all gates behind them. The house is surrounded by fields and may contain livestock. Penylan is a housing co-op, we teach Permaculture and handcrafts. Let us know if you would like an introduction to Permaculture.

Location

Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Wales, United Kingdom

Penylan is secluded and quiet however it is only a five-minute walk to the village, follow the footpath across the fields. Pystyll Rhaedr, the highest waterfall in Wales and one of its seven wonders is just 4 miles up the valley. Lake Vyrnwy is a short drive, and yet we are close to main routes to Merseyside and the Midlands. Llanrhaeadr has two Pubs, a chippy, Indian Restaurant and late opening shops, Dragons craft shop and a new vintage furniture shop. There are many good places to eat in the area. We are 5 miles from Revolution Bike Park, 30 miles from Arthurs Labyrinth and Bounce. also on the slopes of The Berwyn Mountains.
