Once the village brewery, our beautiful centrally heated cottage is the perfect base to explore the New Forest and the Solent. If you fancy a day at home you can just laze in the garden - and our brilliant local pub is just a stroll up the road. Like to cook? The kitchen has everything you'll need. And the cosy living room has a log stove for those chilly autumn evenings. It's just four miles to Romsey for a choice of supermarkets and shops. And we're on site to sort out any problems.
We've over an acre of country garden which you're welcome to use - but we do ask that you confine operations to the top lawn until after half past nine in the morning and after six at night.
Guests have total use of The Brewhouse bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and patio. There's off road parking on the driveway outside. They may also use the gardens - although we do ask that parts of them remain private at certain times of the day.
Interaction with guests
We're just down the drive in the annexe - so if there's anything you need to know or any problem just come and knock on the door.
Other things to note
The Brewhouse is fairly compact, so only has one loo, which is upstairs. The separate bathroom has a reduced length bath - it was the only way to to get one in ... but if you're too tall to fit in it don't worry there's also a shower!
We describe the garden as a country garden - which means there is the odd nettle and bramble. Don't worry, there's plenty of nicely cut lawn to lay out on - and if you're feeling really active Chrissie might let you borrow her croquet set!
The Hatchet Inn serves a fine pint and does excellent food. You'll find plenty of locals there. As well as the normal menu Tuesdays and Thursdays are 'two for one steak nights' and tend to be extra busy - it's always advisable to nip up and book in with Liz the landlady if you want to eat.
Please read the welcome file when you arrive - there are one or two health and safety things you need to be aware of - and other 'stuff' in there we hope you'll find generally helpful.
Our lovely neighbours James and Amelia, who live in the house in the corner, are fairly close as their garden adjoins The Brewhouse - so if you're out on the patio of an evening, or have the telly on inside, we'd ask you to be reasonably restrained noisewise!
We're very proud of the Brewhouse and do our very best to have it spick and span when you arrive. And of course once we've said goodbye to you we'll be busy turning the cottage round ready for the next guests - so we do appreciate it when things are left reasonably clean and tidy!
Oh, and one last thing we're very strict about - it's very important that you enjoy your stay!
