*Private, clean, quiet, peaceful setting on shared 3 acre organic farm filled with avocados, oranges, bananas, bread fruit, papaya, bamboo groves and exotic edible plants...located in the well loved lush North Shore of Maui.

*Convenient location 5min to Haiku Town Center and 10min to the historical beach town of Paia, close to beaches, surfing, the famous Twin Falls hiking area, and quality restaurants.

*From West Maui (Kaanapali, Lahaina or Kapalua) we are half-way to Hana.

The space

The cabin is on a magical and unique property. The stand-alone cabin has a charm of its own, warm, well built and welcoming.

Please note: the shower is outside, privately surrounded by palms and other plant-life, and has hot water. Our patrons have enjoyed this natural-style layout, but it may not be for everyone. : -)

Although we are new to air bnb we have had many guests stay in our cabin, with rave reviews. We hope you will consider trying this lovely piece of paradise. :-)

Note: *Our daily fee already includes the mandatory Hawaii State Tax

Guest access

You are coming to a 3 acre Organic Farm. You are welcome to walk around the grounds freely. There is a lovely gulch on the property which provides peaceful privacy. We are located on quiet neighboring roads with epic old growth trees. You will also find grown and wild edibles on the property.

*Once you reach Peahi Rd you may loose cell reception. The cabin does have good wifi.

Interaction with guests

We will be more than happy to share our knowledge of Maui and make suggestions for restaurants or sightseeing. We live on the property. If anything is needed we are available to help.

Other things to note

Just to make sure you don't miss it: the shower is outside. It's private and has hot water, of course. Everyone so far has enjoyed the outdoor experience, common in Hawaii, but it may not be for everyone : -)

Because we are in the tropics you should expect to find some of our beloved geckos, the occasional harmless spider, and varying numbers of mosquitoes, which can be more frequent after it rains. The cabin is well screened and protected for your comfort.

- This is a quiet neighborhood in the lush tropics of Mauis North Shore...things start to get quiet around 9pm and wake up with bird songs around 7:00am. We do appreciate your respect and consideration of the land and neighbors. We ask that you help us maintain a peaceful, restorative environment. This is not right environment for drinking or partying. I recommend Kihei for that.

-Please note: this is a smoke free environment.
-Please don't leave food out on the counter, as it attracts ants.
-Please remove your shoes before coming into the house, as is the custom in Hawaii.

You must also acknowledge
Pet(s) live on property - We have 12 resident ducks that roam the property in the day time, and occasionally chickens.
Amenity limitations - Cell reception can be compromised but we do have a good wifi connection.

This lovely cottage was such a good find! We were looking for a place in/around Paia as it is more accessible to Haleakala National Park and the Road to Hana. James and Tarini's place was at the perfect location. Haiku is a lot quieter than the more touristy Wailea/Lahaina, but it's close to a couple great beaches as well. We enjoyed our stay and appreciated the tropical fruit bowl that welcomed us. I highly recommend this cottage for couples who are looking for some peace and quiet amidst nature.

I loved staying at James and Tarini's tropical cabin. With all of the windows open, it was like camping but with a comfortable bed and no worry of critters. Falling asleep and waking up to the palm leaves waving in the breeze was really nice. Although I didn't get to meet them, James and Tarini were wonderful hosts. Fresh fruit and the activity/restaurant recommendations were greatly appreciated (Colleen's at the Cannery was delicious). So much better than the crowded resort areas, I hope to stay here again in the future!

Beautiful, private, romantic tiny cabin in a cute little town off of the road to Hana. The outdoor shower was amazing! Checking in and out was zero hassle. Hosts had great communication and hospitality. They gave us some great local recommendations as well. Listening to the trees, bamboo, frogs, and ducks was magical. Seriously, we couldn't have asked for a better experience.

James & Tarini's place is just as it's advertised. Secluded, beautiful, quaint, and lovely. The only tiny downfall was how warm it was the night we stayed there. They had a small fan in the apartment which helped and they reached out as soon as they realized it was an unusually warm night to check in. Despite that minor issue, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and exploring the surrounding areas. They communication was excellent and we appreciated all their suggestions. If you want an adventure & and easy trip up to Haleakala for a beautiful sunrise- stay here! It's worth it. And the outdoor shower is basically my new favorite thing. Live a little! :)

We loved this spot. It is in a great location, a short drive up from paia on the way to Hana. The resident ducks were adorable and the peaceful and serene cabin is surrounded by lush plants. They were super helpful giving us some good tips about places in the area too!
