The Guest House is large and comfortable, with 3 bedrooms and 2 baths located on 1 acre in the historical district of Montgomery, Tx. It has numerous gardens and outdoor areas to sit, play, and visit. Easily walk to shopping, wineries, and parks.
The Guest House has a comfortable, lodge-like feel. Originally, it was a 2000 sq ft orchid greenhouse, but we converted it to a home and now has concrete floors, metal ceilings, and walls made of pallet material. The furnishings are a mix of antiques and cozy sofas and chairs. The bedrooms have high-end linens and sitting/reading areas in each. There is a kitchen that seats 8 persons and a laundry room off the main bathroom.
Guests have access to all green spaces, to play games (croquet, soccer, football), or just sit and relax. There are always cards, puzzles, and plenty of reading material in the common areas.
Interaction with guests
I live in the historical Main House and am usually on the premises to greet my guests. I love to visit with everyone, but also want to give you space if you prefer privacy. I do provide refreshments in the afternoon, but sometimes bake a dessert for later in the evening. Also, a full breakfast is served in the Main dining room between 8 and 9 am.
Other things to note
There are a total of 3 buildings on the property and we can sleep a total of 12-14 guests. The Main House and Cottage were built in the 1850's and have state historical markers.
Check-in is at 3 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. If you need a little more time on either end, please check with us first.
We also understand that you may want additional guests to stay. In this event, contact us to let us know. We will try to accommodate wherever possible. We also have two other buildings on the property that might be a better fit.
We understand that accidents happen. But we do ask that you please let us know when they do. Chances are we can fix them as effortlessly as possible which also means better chances of having your full deposit returned too.
We do accept pets under 12 lbs. Again, just please ask us first.
While we do a thorough cleaning between each guest stay, we kindly ask that prior to leaving, you clean and put away any dishes or kitchenware used and put dirty towels in the tubs. It helps us get through our cleaning process quicker and allows us to keep those costs down for you and future guests.
We want all our guests to have a wonderful time, but please always be considerate of others. Being a family home, we have a no smoking policy, but you are welcome to smoke outdoors and on any of the many decks or porches. There is a strict no drug use policy. Please obey this; it is the law.
