Our family gathers here for amazing times. We have 6 bedrooms, a loft that sleeps three children of all ages. We have two living rooms, four baths, a table that seats 14+, Viking stove, concrete sink etc in a fully appointed kitchen. Dinner service for 20. Huge hot tub, games, many books, two decks, large yard for play, like Bocce, volley ball and croquet. We love Squaw and this house. Recharge! Meet our five foot bear overlooking the front living room. A favorite of our little people.
Have a beautiful wedding or other gathering this summer in our amazing yard surrounded with trees! The seasons are beautiful here in the mountains. We are not a hotel, we are a real home where you can be comfortable. You can enjoy your group but still have places to go for a quiet moment.
There is nothing really off limits. If you consume or break something we ask you to replace it in kind.
Interaction with guests
I like to speak to guests before making a reservation.
Other things to note
We have hiking for all levels, a pool or ice skate rink a the top of the mountain, depending on the time of year, tennis, fishing, biking, dining, shopping, etc. Many really good golf courses in the area. Reno has great courses, they can be found all around the lake, in Truckee, Tahoe Donner, and we have one right in Squaw, Squaw Creek. You have to hit them long and straight on this course or bring a lot of old balls. There are environmentally protected areas that you cannot go into to retrieve the ball. It is still a lot of fun.
There is also a park in the valley that the little kids love.
- We bring our babies but if you decide to bring yours, you will have to watch them all the time, particularly if they are starting to crawl or walk. The older kids love it so much they cry when they leave. Little animals can be eaten when outside...seriously, it can really happen. Also, we have family and guests who are allergic to dander. Re parties, we will work with you, events and parties give rise to special considerations and rules to discuss, mainly involving curtesy for our neighborhood and plumbing.
- We ask that outdoor gatherings either end or move inside after 10 p.m. We have had complaints about people yelling in the hot tub at night, not realizing how their voices carry down the mountain. Some of my neighbors have commented on the "interesting conversations" they have been privy to! So for the hot tub, after 9 or so, mums the word.
