Urban permaculture organic garden on an acre section with a food forest, vege gardens, a bush walk, bees, chooks and a small stream.

A 2 bedroom garden flat with large patio to hang out and look at the garden. Just 5 mins drive from town and a stroll to the 'locals' café for breakfast. Free tea and coffee and unlimited ultrafast broadband.

The space
The garden flat is all on one level with living room, 2 bedrooms and bathroom. There is a kitchenette with sink, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, microwave, 2 induction hobs and a benchtop oven, There is also a BBQ outside.

I have a friendly cat (rocket) who is usually wandering around the garden.

Where you’ll be

New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand

Although I have a lot of neighbours, it is a quiet neighbourhood. The garden is a little oasis in the middle of town.

Teacher of organic horticulture, permaculture and biodynamics. I love teaching people to grow their own food and get out in the garden, getting involved in community projects and generally having a rewarding and busy lifestyle living in the gem of a place that is Taranaki. I love travelling, cooking food straight from the garden, reading an eclectic mix of authors and listening to great music - especially live and dancing with friends.

During your stay

I teach horticulture and permaculture classes - some days/evenings and weekends but i'm around about or in the garden at least half the week. I host people from all over the world on internships and exchanges so am used to having people stay. I'm happy to talk about gardening and permaculture and give you a garden tour if i'm not working.
