Kai's place was perfect for a long weekend! Not only does the house live up to the posted pictures, even with rainy weather the house contained everything you need for a perfect relaxing weekend! Furthermore, Kai is very communicative and answers very quickly even though being busy. We would definitely recommend to stay there. The perfect location, the cosy house itself, and the host make you feel very welcome!
I was at the end of a roadtrip around Norway with my wife and parents and was looking for a place along our route, when "The Cliff" popped up. It was also about half hour out of the way and Kai's place didn't have any reviews yet but we decided to take a chance and we were so glad we did. Everything about this place was impressive. Kai's cabin is the definition of wonderful. It is situated in a little summer community high up on a cliff overlooking the water. From basically everywhere in the cabin, you can see out at the landscape... or should I say waterscape. Several hundred feet down you can watch everything from big freighters to small boats going by. Birds are soaring right at your eyeline and below. If you are ambitious, there are stairs that take you down to the water as well. The view itself is enough to book this place without thinking twice, but the cabin itself? Wow. It's as top notch as you can get, all the finishes and details are well thought out, high end and extremely tasteful Nordic modern rustic design. The 4 of us mentioned multiple times that this style would be a dream for our own homes. And after a fully packed road trip, we spent the evening sitting down together with some wine and music and books and just chilling out. With a fire and that incredible view, it was a dreamy way to ground the whole trip. Kai himself was great. He was very warm and welcoming of us into his place. He was quick to respond. We really appreciated that he worked around his busy schedule to accommodate us. Communication was great the entire process. Kai even met us in town to show us the way back to the cabin since it is a bit tricky. The only reason I can give you to NOT go out of your way to book Kai's place is if you have major mobility issues. You do have a little bit of a hilly walk (30-45 seconds and there are handrails) through some paths to get to the cabin, but it is all worth it for that view! All in all, an 11/10. It saying it far exceeded expectations would be an understatement. I would definitely book again, and would even recommend planning a route in that direction to stay there.
