My beautiful designed apartment is located in the perfect area of Vienna - just 7 min walking distance from Stephansplatz the heart of the City.
A lovely daily farmers market with flowers & food directly in front of the door. Supermarkets, Shops, Café's, restaurants and bars all around. The house is a Palais with a private Park in the center.
The place is calm and like a hideaway in the middle of the City. Airport Express CAT is 5 min walking distance. Very convenient.
You will love it!!!
The Landtstrasser Hauptstrasse is a sweet shopping street in the 3. District of Vienna with lots of little boutiques and Café' s.
The 3. District is the area where most of the Embassies sit and it is one of the admired neighborhoods in the City.
The daily farmers market at the Rochusmarkt is a good start for the day...
Strolling through the stalls with flowers and all kind of groceries.
If you wanna buy flowers, DO it! My apartment loves flowers and they simply make happy...
then have an espresso or a snack at Pappa & Ciccia Stand No. 3 a tiny, but delicious Italian restaurant. Also great for lunch!
Marco the owner loves to chat and is always up for a joke.
Now what to do - Park or City?
Well, if you wanna join the nature, Vienna is a green City with lots of Parks.
The biggest and most famous one is the Prater...and its near. Super near!
Just walk down the Rasumofskygasse towards the Danube.
The street is named after the Russian Ambassador in the 18.Century,
Prince Rasumofsky, you will pass his Palais on the right and it is one of the most impressive buildings in the area. Today it is a private Residency and houses a private art collection. I ve been inside once, it is beyond :)
Following the Street you come to the Donau Kanal, cross the bridge and you are right at the beginning of the beautiful Prater.
The Emperor and his royal household used the Prater for hunting and it is still popular for the viennese, they love it.
Jogging, walking the dog, playing with the kids, cycling, nordic walking. The Park is lively and full of good energy.
There is actually two kinds of Prater, the green Park for walking and the entertainment Part of the Prater with the famous big wheel. Fun for kids ...and adults!
If you decided for shopping, after the espresso you walk down the Landstrasser Hauptstrasse towards City Center. On the left side, close before Wien Mitte there is a lovely Café called "Joseph". They have the BEST Bread in Vienna and the best breakfast. All organic, homemade and simply Über delicious.
Make sure to try it out!
Shortly after is "the Mall" in Wien Mitte. You'll find all kinds of Shops, Cinema, Bookstores, Supermarket etc. - it s good for rainy days.
Following the Street, cross the Bridge, pass the Ring - the famous viennese Boulevard, where all the magnificent Hotels are located like "The Imperial", "The Sacher", or "The Bristol". It's a ring street like the name, so walking around you'll find all the Highlights of Vienna. The Museums, the famous Opera, the Winter Palace 'Hofburg' and the elegant Hotels.
Have a piece of cake in the Imperial, the poshest of all. It is like last century and the old ladies and gents sitting around are as well ;)
If you don t wanna walk, take the 'Ringbahn' the Tram No.1 and in a 30 min drive you ll see everything.
After passing the Ring Street you ll come to the Stubentor a big square with a huge tree in the middle. walk on the left side towards Wollzeile, another lovely shopping street. At the beginning on the left hand side is the famous restaurant "Plachutta" an elegant place where they serve typical viennese kitchen including Schnitzel and Tafelspitz. It is not cheap, but delicious and worth it!
The Wollzeile leads you directly to St. Stephansplatz with its impressive Dome and the heart of the City. From there just discover the City Center with all it s Shops and Café's.
At the corner you ll see the " Haashaus" where Zara is, take the elevator to the 6.floor into the Do&CO Bar, sit down and enjoy the view on the church and on the viral City from above.
Afterwords walk along the "Graben" towards the end, either take a left to the Winterpalace 'Hofburg' and the 'Michaelerplatz' or to the right to the ' Golden Quartier' where all the High End luxury Brands have their shops.
Make sure you visit the 'schwarzes Kameel' one of the most famous restaurants.
It is from 16..something and the bread Canapés are fantastic... and have a glas wine as well, everyone in Vienna does after work ;)
