Cozy apartment just renovated, located in the heart of San Lorenzo, historic district of Rome. San Lorenzo is today one of the liveliest and most creative neighborhoods, bohemian soul and the cultural avant-garde of the capital. Here you will find vintage shops in place of the great signatures, old taverns that coexist with the new fashionable venues.

The space

Just outside the house beyond bars, restaurants, cinemas you will find the vibrant fruit and vegetable market opened from Monday to Saturday, supermarkets, pharmacies and all kinds of service. ON FOOT It is about a 15-minute walk from Termini Station. Exit Termini Station on Via Marsala Take Via Marsala to the right Proceed for about 200 meters and take Piazzale Sisto V, continue on Via di Porta San Lorenzo, Turn left and take Piazza di Porta San Lorenzo Continue to Piazzale Tiburtino Take Via Tiburtina and at the traffic light turn right, You are on Via dei Sardi and at number 12 you are here. PLANE Fast train from Fiumicino "Leonardo Express" to Termini (€ 14.00), or Terravision bus from Ciampino to Termini (Euro 4.00) or Shuttle services (collective taxis that bring every customer to the destination) I would recommend the Leonardo Express train that takes Termini in half an hour. FROM THE TERMINAL HOUSE TO CASA Once at Termini exit the station from the air terminal on Via Giolitti, the parallel is Via Filippo Turati (500m.) Take the 71 at Turati_Fanti stop towards Tiburtina Station, get off at the 5th Tiburtina / Marruccini stop before the stop where c 'Is the traffic light is Via dei Sardi ... and you have arrived. Or if you do not have heavy luggage in a 15/20 minute walk you are at home. If you prefer, a taxi from the home station costs about € 8.00 CAR For those arriving by car there is a guarded car park right at home. Parking Tek via dei Sardi 25 phone (phone number hidden).

This was only a moderately successful stay. The apartment itself is clean and pleasant (except that the living room rug is stained and needs a thorough clean). However, the host was away from Rome during my stay, which meant that I was welcomed by a gentleman (I don't know who he was ) who spoke no English and did not stay around for more than a minute or two after letting me in. There is no guide to the locality (shops, cafés, sites, etc) in the apartment, so I was left to discover these on my own. Shortly after settling in, I discovered that the wifi was not working, so I had to call Gabriela, which was an international call for me, and although she apparently tried to get it working remotely (she was in Milan), it was still not mended when I left 3 days later, causing me considerably inconvenience and cost. The description on the AirBnB site does not emphasise sufficiently clearly that the apartment is on the fourth floor and there is no lift. It would be tough to get there if you had heavy suitcases and are not 100% fit.

Response from Gabriella:
Nigel, I am very sorry for what concerns the wifi. unfortunately it was a disservice to the telephone company that despite assured that would be solved in a few hours they are actually prolonged for several days. Now it is finally solved! THE WIFI IS NOW WORKING i could not do more than what I did. on bookcase in plain sight are business cards of all my favorite places in the neighborhood, I'm sorry you have not taken them into account. I am available for my guests at any time, and can be contacted by phone, email, etc. It's true Genesio doesn't speaks english , but allthe guest who met him told me he is really kind, sorry if for you was Not a good welcoming.

We enjoyed our stay in Gabriella's apartment. It was clean, comfortable, well equipped, and looked as it does in the photos. Gabriella's communication was good, and although she wasn't there to check us in herself, this wasn't a problem, despite the fact that we arrived late at night and delayed by at least one hour. She also allowed us to leave our bags after check out time which helped us to enjoy our last day in the city. The apartment is located in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, which we found a good base to explore the city. It was about 15 minutes by foot to the Termini, and within walking distance of many of Rome's historic attractions. The area itself is lively with a number of bars and restaurants. There's a market around the corner for fresh food, vintage clothes shops, etc. - a shabby chic vibe - don't expect glamour, but lots of charm and things to discover. A taste of Rome outside of the usual tourist areas. I would have no problem in recommending this apartment to a friend or family member, and would likely stay again if I was to visit Rome in the future.

This was the first time I've used airbnb, but I couldn't have asked for a better experience! The flat itself is beautiful - high spec fittings throughout, clean, well-equipped and really comfortable - I can't fault it at all. The location of the property is about 10-15 mins walk from Termini; not an unpleasant walk at all - in fact we used public transport twice during our entire stay of 5 nights, and that was including going to the Vatican which is on the other side of the city. The area has lots of bars that are open late and the locals are fantastic. A couple of shops/supermarkets are also nearby, meaning stocking up on food is not a problem at all. There’s also a fantastic little coffee shop round the corner that we went to every morning! I unfortunately didn't get to meet Gabriella, as she was away during our stay; however, she was always on hand to quickly answer any questions that we had - her knowledge of the area and of Rome in general is great and a real help! I’ll wish to come back to Rome one day soon and I would definitely stay here again… the perfect accommodation for a beautiful city! Grazie mille Gabriella!

A nice, clean, cozy and spacious apartment, equipped with all you need including amenities, a dish washer, a laundry/dryer machine, iron board, glass tableware, and even condiments. An excellent location, only 20-minute walk away from the Rome central station, allowing you easy accesses to famous sight-seeing spots. I highly recommend this listing to my Japanese friends.

Nice flat. Super clean and cosy. Ideal to spend several days in La Sapienza Rome. The neighborhood is animated but the flat is rather quiet, located at the 4th floor of a building. The welcome was really warm, with cupboard and fridge with plenty of little things ready for cooking.

Gabriella's place is clean and has useful amenities (A/C, washer/dryer). She was a kind and responsive host and Genesio, who let us into the apartment, was patient with our limited Italian skills. We enjoyed the location in San Lorenzo; it is particularly convenient if you are visiting La Sapienza (a 5-10 min walk).
