Great location
100% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
On the Wild Atlantic Way, Boolakeel House sits in 25 acres of half hardy exotic gardens which includes a private beach. The sea is outside your door! This is a magical place and perfect for romantic holidays, gardeners, dark skies enthusiasts, golfers, or for families just to enjoy. Ideal location for trips to the UNESCO Skellig Islands where Star Wars was recently filming. Listed and used as a film location. Waterville Golf Course and Hogs Head Golf courses 20 minutes drive.

The space
Very eccentric house by the sea on Bolus Head, an archeologically fascinating and ancient headland. There are three double bedrooms available and two single, all ensuite. Maximum of 6 people staying comfortably because the dining area and kitchen space is limited, but can sleep 8 and cater for 8 at a squeeze.

Where you’ll be

Ballinskelligs, County Kerry, Ireland

Ballinskelligs village is a very friendly and special place. The ancient home of the 6th century monks, the Abbey is a short walk away and Ballinskelligs Castle on the beach is a famous beauty spot. There are many ruins of castles, forts, tombs, pre-christian graveyards and examples of rock art in the area. Barbara's beach cafe, Cafe Trois , is just down the road and we have 2 pubs in the village. Food shopping can be done in Caherciveen or Waterville. In Caherciveen I use Millers butcher, Quinlans amazing fish shop, La Petite Delice French Patisserie and Supervalu Supermarket. There is a small shop and post office in Ballinskelligs for basic supplies. The blue cafe has pizza and wine evenings and Cill Riallaig art gallery has an outdoor pizza oven and cafe. Sea angling, lake fishing, golf, boat trips to the UNESCO Skellig Islands and horse riding can all be arranged locally.
