Cozy, comfortable, brick bungalow nestled in a stand of trees offers convenience & seclusion just off the beaten-path. Knotty pine, radiant heating, cathedral ceiling & loft are warm & inviting. Minutes away from 3 state parks, Cayuga & Seneca lakes, wine trails, Cornell, Ithaca College & the renowned Ithaca Commons.
** Due to the coronavirus, we 're taking extra care in cleaning/disinfecting frequently touched surfaces, & airing out the cabin between guests. **

The space
The Nest balances charm and function... the deliciousness is in the details. Stained glass portals offer prisms of light in the morning sun. Our library ladder and antique corner shelving, hurricane lamps and wrought iron hangers were all sought out and hand-picked for the unique character that they add. Ceiling fans are conveniently placed for comfort and add a touch of beauty. Unique and delightful to the senses.
Please use caution in the loft area as the stained glass windows that are so charming, provide more of an emotional barrier than a physical one. They will not hold your weight, so no gymnastics (or kids!) in the loft, please.
Sorry, no stove/range.

Guest access
The Nest stands alone (like the cheese), but we hope that you will take in our gardens and traverse our woodland walkways. Relax and breathe by the dock with morning yoga, or with a cuppa local coffee that we provide. Intimate, yet a stones throw from the main house, we're here to assist, while affording privacy. Our pedal boat is at your disposal for the duration of your stay. Hammock, swing, and fire pit may also add some enjoyment to your visit.

Other things to note
Two delightful dogs live at the main house, Guinness & Henri. They are guest friendly. You may see them sunning themselves on one of the decks at the main house, or outside leaping about in the bullrushes. Both are up-to-date on vaccinations, heart worm and flea/tick preventatives.

Location

Ithaca, New York, United States

The country-setting of our home means that you won't be seeing any neighbors, however you may hear their roosters crowing, or cattle lowing at various times on warm days. In the evening, the air is filled with the sound of bullfrogs, tree frogs, and the occasional owl.
Avid birders (read: junior ornithologists), we share our home with robins, eastern phoebes, grackles, cowbirds, finches, red-tailed hawks, downy, hairy, yellow-bellied, red-headed and piloted woodpeckers as well as ruby-throated hummingbirds, black-capped chickadees, swallows, sparrows, cardinals, goldfinches, house finches, grosbeaks, barred owls, herons, mourning doves and whomever seems to be passing by! You may spot a luna moth and a variety of swallowtail butterflies in addition to the painted ladies that we raise.
Do note that car windows should be closed at night since our neighbors include some rambunctious raccoons, sprightly squirrels and curious chipmunks!
