This was a lovely place to unwind after our adventurous honeymoon around Aotearoa! Amazing views and quaint town, a bit of a drive to ChCh but well worth it! Mahalo Shelly!

Quail's Nest is probably the best air bnb I have stayed in. The location is idyllic with glorious views, endless tramping tracks on your doorstep yet with vibrant Lyttelton only a 7 minute ferry ride away and the airport a brisk 45 minute drive. We stayed for 4 nights and wish could have stayed longer. Shelley and Tom are the most fabulous hosts - going way above and beyond. I spent one night on my own with no car before my boyfriend arrived so Tom picked me up from the ferry twice which was hugely appreciated. They provided a huge breakfast platter, dressing gowns, offered us use of their kayaks, and called us down to see orca whales in the bay (the first time they have been spotted in 9 years). A truly fabulous spot and extraordinary value for money, 100% recommended.

Five stars! Super comfortable bed, excellent shower, meticulously clean, bright and has everything you need plus more. We loved sitting on the deck and watching the views and spectacular sunset. Thanks for your kind hospitality Tom and Shelley. We'll be back! Highly recommend.

Tom and Shelley were the most amazing hosts. Tom gave us a run down of all the things that we could do while we were in Diamond Harbour. The Quails Nest is an absolutely amazing place to stay. I would highly recommend staying there to anyone. The views that you see in the pictures do not do it any justice. They are spectacular waking up every morning looking over the beautiful bay/harbour was amazing. A very relaxing place to be. We will definitely be coming back.

Probably the nicest airbnb we've ever had the pleasure of staying in! The shower head, my God. If you love your showers this place is all you need. Lovely hosts, amazing view and a very generous breakfast platter in the fridge. What a wonderful surprise! Thank you so much Shelley- your house and your garden is beautiful. We didn't want to leave!

Gorgeous spot in the scenic Diamond Harbor community. Not easy to get there, but worth the trip. Well-outfitted and the terrace sunset view is perfect for afternoon/evening. Ferry to Lyttelton and #28 bus is the way to do Christchurch tourism the easy way. We were curious about the Quail's Nest name until this morning, when two pairs of quail, accompanied by two pairs of chicks, visited us to say farewell. Priceless.

The Quails Nest is even better than it looks on line, with a great view, modern, clean space with everything to make your visit to the Banks Peninsula perfect. Shelley and Tom are great hosts who welcome you without being intrusive. The studio is ideally located to visit all of the peninsula and enjoy the solitude and view. We highly recommend staying in the Quails Nest and would return if we are in the area again.
