At the base of the Blue Ridge mountains located near hiking trails, and a variety of outdoor activities like biking, kayaking & canoeing, this secluded retreat offers a quiet place to rest. Drink from the Healing Spring discovered in 1883.

The space
Locally groundhogs (or woodchucks) are frequently called "Whistle Pigs". Our rustic Whistle Pig Cabin is a great space for the budget conscious traveler. A plush full size bed in this cabin tucked up into the woods near a little creek makes for a great nights sleep!

Adirondack chairs along a babbling brook with a charcoal BBQ are next to the cabin.

Please note this is a "rustic" cabin and does not have a private bathroom, guests utilize the semi private bathroom with shower in our Lodge building. This camping cabin does have electricity, a mini-fridge, coffee pot and ceiling fan. Bed and bath linens are provided! This cabin also has heat for the cooler months.

Guest access
Guests have the entire cabin to themselves.

Other things to note
Healing Springs is a special place. Discovered in 1884 and originally called Thompson's Bromine and Arsenic Springs. The property was then known as Healing Springs Resort in later years, and is now simply called The Cabins at Healing Springs.

The natural spring is purported to have mystical healing abilities and rumored to have cured everything from poison ivy to rheumatism, indigestion to ulcers. Today, our cabins are all equipped with a water pitcher so you can enjoy the fresh spring water in your cabin any time during your stay.

A two night stay is required on weekends. All major holidays require a 3 night minimum stay. Ask us about 1 nights stay on weekends as we can sometimes accommodate :)

We check guests in between 4pm and 8pm, but can make arrangements for late check ins. Early check ins can sometimes be accommodated, just ask us :) Check out is by 11am.

Dogs are allowed in this cabin. Our dog fee is weight based. Check with us prior to bringing a dog please.

Welcome! I have a passion for reviving and restoring old homes. I believe in saving our history, one home at a time. I moved to Wilson, NC from Anchorage, AK in 2010 on a whim, to experience "southern hospitality". After restoring several Victorian homes in Wilson, in 2013, I fell in love with a property in Ashe County, the furthest NW corner of North Carolina. Here, my partner and I purchased a property that is on the National Historic Register of places known as Healing Springs. We have spent the past year restoring our 10 cabins and are thrilled to be able to offer them to guests. Our property is called The Cabins at Healing Springs. We strive to provide cozy and comfortable accommodations with great beds! My style is to leave people to their own thing, but I am happy to chime in with recommendations and suggestions for our wonderful area. I also make handmade natural soaps with water from the Healing Spring. Additionally, I make jams and jellies with local ingredients. I am happy to share my knowledge of soapmaking or crafting of jams & jellies with folks. Anne
