Picturesque East Warren is where you want to be. Located minutes to Warren Village and downtown Waitsfield, with sweeping bucolic views of the Green Mountains. This Retro Cottage has charm, comfort and convenience all rolled into one. Enjoy your time in the Mad River Valley watching the pastures and running stream in the backyard, reading in the daybed nook or taking a long bubble bath. The cottage is ideal for families or couples looking for a Vermont escape.

The space

The Retro Cottage is a two bedroom, one and a half bathroom home located right on East Warren Road. Upon entering the house, there is a small mudroom with hooks to hang your coat and room to store any outdoor gear (skis, boots, etc.). The main door to the house leads into the open living room. This space has cable TV and a fun juke box. The open kitchen has three stools for casual eating, a 4-burner gas stove, a microwave, coffee maker, and other kitchen essentials. The dining room, located through the living room, seats 6 and has a bar hutch for entertaining. The full bathroom is located just near the kitchen and contains a separate tiled shower, clawfoot tub and all basic amenities such as shampoo, conditioner, soap and, of course, bubble bath! Upstairs has the two bedrooms and daybed nook. All of our beds are made in the classic European style with a fitted sheet and a covered duvet, with freshly laundered linens (of course!). The master bedroom has a queen size bed, closet and dresser, with a small half bath attached. The half bathroom has a toilet, sink and bidet. The second bedroom sleeps three total with one twin and one double bed. There is a closet, vanity and other shelving and drawers for storage in this room. The daybed nook is located off the hallway with a giant picture window that opens the nook up to the gorgeous backyard view. The nook bed can comfortably sleep one. The upstairs hallway is also home to the laundry closet that has a washer and dryer set. The backyard has a lovely lawn with chairs to relax and a beautiful garden to enjoy.

Guest access

Guests have access to the entire home. We ask that guests please respect the host's wishes to stay out of the neighboring barn. There is parking for three cars in the summer and two in the winter. Please keep in mind the owner often uses one of these spaces to access the barn. If you plan to have three cars in your group, just let us know and we will be sure not to use the third space.

Interaction with guests

My Co-Host Alex will act as the primary contact. If you have a pressing question that Alex cannot help with, she will direct you to either myself or my husband.

Other things to note

The Mad River Valley is a popular wedding destination and we are near to all of the popular wedding venues. Both The Round Barn and The Pitcher Inn are located 5 minutes away. The Mad River Barn, Sugarbush and The 1824 House are each a 15 minute drive.

Our stay was phenomenal. The house was gorgeous, clean, with a magical view. We woke up to cows outside the dining room window, and a view of the mountains. Communication with the co-host Alexandra was quick and easy, and she was super helpful and eager to make us feel at home. We loved our stay here and plan on coming back as soon as possible. All the little details in the house were fun and tasteful, and we loved every second. The location is the best in the valley. We can't wait to come back!

Wendy and Alex were amazing hosts on every front! This was our first time doing Airbnb and it was a total success. We will definitely rerent this house again. My husband and I took our two kids to Warren, my home town, for the 4th of July and decided to do Airbnb. Getting access to the house was very easy through Alex and Alex checked in a few times over the weekend to make sure everything was okay. The level of attention paid to the house and our stay was outstanding...coffee and milk plus fresh blueberries were in the fridge, Wendy had left beautiful flowers throughout the house which added a special touch, the shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom where high quality, my kids loved the books and toys Wendy put in the house. And the setting was perfect for a country stay - my kids loved looking out the windows at the neighboring cows and strolling into the meadows to get closer to them, yikes. The house had all the amenities you need for an weekend/extended stay and the art work / decor was awesome to boot. Stay in this house and enjoy a Vermont weekend in style.
