Perfect for a wine-country getaway for a couple or single person. Your large, airy Master Bedroom has a beautiful country view, a comfy queen-size "sleigh" bed with down comforter, two nightstands, a super-cozy loveseat and a closet Your private, master bathroom is small but sweet, with vintage tile and a shower, toilet and sink, plus drawers and shelves for your toiletries. Towels and wash cloths will be set out for you.

The space

This is a mid-century ranch house built in the 1950s. Local artwork in your bedroom and throughout the house. Enjoy the large living room as well as the dining room, back patio, and huge back yard. In the kitchen, help yourself at any time to the coffee and tea on the counter. You also have access to the stove top, oven, fridge, microwave and counter-top toaster oven. And pots, pans and eating utensils, of course. (I ask that you cook light meals only and leave the kitchen as clean and tidy as you found it.)

Guest access

Get comfy on the couch in the large living room and enjoy a big picture window that looks out to the pastures, stream and vineyards across the street. There is an ajoining dining room with a table for you. Or sit at the patio table on the back patio and take in the beauty of the large yard of flowers, trees and grass--and pick fresh blackberries (August) and apples (August/September). For stays of 2 nights or longer, use of the washer and dryer is available.

Interaction with guests

I work in my home office (on the other side of the house from you) so I am here a lot. I tend to be very quiet, and I am happy to give you all the space and privacy you want. Yet if you need me or want to connect, I can be available to orient you to the area, answer questions, and direct you to favorite spots. I'm friendly and do my best to be gracious and to provide you with the memorable getaway experience you came here for.

Other things to note

Until September I am fostering a sweet dog who is a Yellow Lab and Golden Retriever mix. If you let me know ahead of time that it appeals to you, she will be happy to greet you when you arrive and be available for pets and play during your stay. If that's not your thing, she will be content to hang out with me and give you your space.

(If you're one of the rare folks who are very allergic to dogs, be aware that there is dog-hair residue in my house--even though I do keep a very clean house--and decide accordingly.)

Response from Martia:
Thank you, Lauren. I'm so glad you and your husband stayed here. I meant to tell you, I love that you tend bees! I wanted to set up a few hives on my property 3 years ago but found out (ahead of time) that due to the trees, my yard doesn't get enough hours of sunlight in the winter. Love the bees!

Enjoyed our stay at Martia's warm and inviting home! Her patio, surrounded by a lovely flower garden, was the perfect spot for a peaceful & relaxing morning...drinking our coffee/tea while chatting with Martia and other guests.

Mattie, I loved having you and your mom here for the week. It was especially fun sitting on the back patio having wine and cheese with you and catching up on your day's adventures. Take care!

Lovely host, lovely home just outside of town! Martia's warm and open, truly engaging. The rooms are well appointed, each one in a different style/mood. We stayed in the green room--large, with a private bathroom (shower, no tub). Martia lists three of her rooms on AirBnb. The rooms are next to one another along one hallway, and Martia's room and office are on the other side of the house. We loved the location and the beautiful views of vignards and trees.

I was in Sebastopol for a weekend workshop and needed someplace for Saturday night. The house is clean, airy, and very easy to get to. Martia was wonderful, she met me after class to give me a key and show me where everything was. The restaurant recommendation she gave me was great. I enjoyed our conversations. I'd definitely stay here again.

I love connecting with people and being your Airbnb host. I go the extra mile to help you create the memorable getaway experience you have come to the beautiful Sonoma County wine country for! I also love dogs, reading, art and hiking in the mountains.
