I had a very comfortable stay here. Sophie and Lydia were very welcoming, and I had everything I needed. The room was cozy and clean, and I was in easy commuting distance to everything I needed.

Secluded road but within easy reach of public transport. 20 min walk into city centre. Pubs and shops along the way. Comfortable room and made to feel very welcome by Sophie and her daughter

I didn't meet Sophie as she was away on holiday but she kept in contact to let me know how to get into the property and where everything was and also gave me her friend's number incase I had any problems. I had a very pleasant stay and the house was only a 20 minute walk from the La Raza, the restaurant I was meeting friends at and the house is down a very quiet road. The only slight disappointment was that I'd been promised off street parking but arrived to find another guest had taken the parking space so had to park out on the road. I'd arrived quite late in the day so this wasn't a problem as the permit parking only is only up to 5pm on a Saturday, not sure where I'd have parked if I'd have got there earlier as I'd originally planned. I was able to park right outside the front door. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast is included too and a big choice was on offer. Overall I had a pleasant stay and would definitely stay at Sophie's house again.

I enjoyed my stay at Sophie's place. The room was as advertised: clean and cosy, with a private ensuite shower. The wifi is good, Sophie and her daughter were friendly and welcoming, and the town is only a short walk/cycle away.

Hello!! I am a former ESL teacher who desperately needed a break from teaching. So, in 2016, I moved to Cambridge with my then eight-year-old daughter, Lydia. I had read English Literature at St. Catharine's College here in Cambridge in the 'good ol' days' and decided to return and give my daughter a chance to experience the local multicultural outlook and the beauties this city has to offer. Airbnb hosting is not just a much-needed income to help towards paying the rent; it is a fascinating way of life and a valuable 'school' for my daughter. I find interacting with diverse characters, cultures and races a truly interesting and fulfilling experience.... So welcoming guests to our home is done with a genuine smile and the best intentions.
The life motto I have passed on to my daughter is "Hope for the best and be prepared for the worst" and that, whatever happens, humour saves the day.... Having a good hearty laugh a day keeps most troubles away....
