A beautiful country house set in over 3 acres of olive groves and nestled in the Andalucian hills. Complete with private pool, this 3 bedroom house enjoys stunning views of Pruna castle. The best of both worlds: quiet and secluded, but just 10 minutes from the charming town of Olvera.

The space

The house has amazing views of the surrounding hills. It is set in over 3 acres of olive groves, which are still farmed to produce local olive oil.

The house accomodates 5 in 3 bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, the second has a double and the third has a single bed.

Guest access

The house has A.C. (cool/heat) and a wood burner, making it comfortable regardless of the season. A fully fitted kitchen offers an electric oven, gas-hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dish washer, washing machine and clothes rack/line.

The living room has 2 sofas and a rocking chair, but chairs are available in the dining area for extra guests. There is a TV and DVD player, but no internet or phone.

There is an inside dining table with 6 chairs, as well as 2 tables with additional seating for 6 outside.

There is also seating with umbrellas around the pool.

Please be careful on the short stretch of dirt track that leads up to the house. It is quite steep and there are pot-holes. The track can be managed easily in a small car, but just take your time.

Interaction with guests

We have friends in Olvera who will arrange a 'meet-and-greet' at your conveniance and who can offer information about things to do and see. They will also be available if you have any problems during your stay.

Other things to note

We have a farmer who tends the olives and looks after the area that surrounds the house. He is very friendly and will stay away from the house and pool area. However, don't be surprised to see him in the olive groves during the week. An 'hola!' or 'buenos dias!' always goes down well.

We had a really wonderful stay in Pruna. The welcome pack of coffee, bread etc was most appreciated and and we absolutely loved the place, the pool and the views. Definitely want to return to explore more of the walking & cycling activities. The Via Verde is a fantastic addition to the region. Really enjoyed hiring bikes and being able to take in all the glorious scenery in a way that is accessible with small children. Plenty of information provided to advise us where to go and the peace and serenity of the place was only broken by our children's delighted screams as they jumped in the pool again. Very clean and well equipped with excellent air con - needed in the 35-40 deg heat of Spanish summer. Recommended.

Response from Mike:
We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay - you are very welcome to come back any time. Do check out the Via Verde Visitor Centre in Olvera if you didn't manage to this time - there is a 3D cinema and some history of the region - well worth a visit!

Beautiful, tranquil setting. Spacious rooms. Large pool. Good A/C. Olivera was the perfect small town to give you a real feel of rural Spain. Great base if you want to discover more of Andalucia and further afield.

The house is in an idyllic location and well equipped. It has a private pool at the rear which isn't overlooked. The hosts kindly left us food and drinks as we arrived on a Sunday when the shops were shut which we thought was a lovely gesture.

The finca was everything we had hoped for and more! It was comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed for our week's stay. Its location is perfect with amazing views of the surrounding olive groves. The unmade road up to the house is a bit of a worry with a hire car but manageable. Mike was very helpful and easy to communicate with and Eileen and Frank, who met us at the house, gave us invaluable information and directions to neighbouring villages. Thank you for a perfect week's stay!

Villa was lovely as described, our hosts provided detailed information required. Location is a nice quite and private area just outside of the Pruna with 2 choices of towns, Olvera and Pruna. Great base for sightseeing - easy distance of Ronda and Seville. We had a lovely stay thank-you.

Mike lives with his wife Alison, children Benjamin and Lizzie and 2 cats in Essex, England and teaches Music in a local secondary school. As well as being a musician and teacher, Mike loves travelling around the world and bought a house in one of his favourite holiday destinations in Spain.

The house is in the beautiful Andalucian countryside, near Olvera. This location is ideal for travelling around the famous white villages, bird watching, walking and cycling along the nearby Via Verde.

When not teaching, Mike can be found relaxing by the pool or enjoying the local tapas, whilst soaking up the Spanish culture.
