Me and my girlfriend had a short stay in NY from 30/12-1/1, and it was super hectic, but still great :) One of the things making it great was our host and his place. Fantastic view from the kitchen, and even better from the roof, truly amazing! We had fun talking to Chris and could have spent a bit more time hanging out if we'd had more time 'cause he seems like a great guy. He was very helpful in giving directions and advice on where to go. The bus in to Manhattan was like 3 min away from the apartment and with no traffic it took at most 10 min. With LOTS of traffic it still only took about 40 min, so it's a good spot. We wanted separate beds, and he managed to get an extra mattress, so we're very thankful for that :) We didn't have time to stay at his place and cook our own food, but he had little stickers on all drawers and cupboards telling where everything was, so I bet that'd been helpful. He had no lock on the bathroom door (Is it like that everywhere in USA? 'Cause we had it like that at both homes we stayed at), and for us who are used to be able to lock the door, it felt a bit wierd. Maybe get a "Busy"-sign for the door? It worked out fine anyway. Oh, and he had two lovely cats. One very shy and the other quite the opposite. Kept us some company, but if they would've troubled us, he could've kept them away :) To sum it up: Great guy, great place (small but not cramped), great location (dunkin' donuts just before you get to the bus, great for quick breakfasts). Would stay if we go to NY again :)

Great location for people who want to stay outside Manhattan. Comfy bed in a quiet neighbourhood Host Chris is very easy-going and helped me out with a bunch of stuff including travel and even shoppingareas in Jersey. Overall a very good stay, Busstops right outside that will take you straight to the city, didn't try the train though.
