Great location
90% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
My place is located in a restful, yet central, part of Reykjavik (105). It is in a walking distance to the city center with its local attractions, museums, restaurants, cafés and shops. It is in the proximity of a park with one of three exhibition spaces of Reykjavik Art Museum. This private room is basic but well furnished, with a bunk bed, so it might suit two friends travelling together or for solo travelers. It is in a lovely residential area, one of the best to stay in Reykjavik.

The space
My flat is quite central, close to a public park. There are two swimming pools nearby (Sundhöll Reykjavíkur and Laugardalslaug) and good outdoors opportunities, for walking or running. It is also close to several places of cultural interest, such as museums, galleries and the city theater. The room has a bunk bed and can accommodate 2 people. Towels and washcloths are provided.

Guest access
The guests of the private room share the kitchen and bathroom.
Parking is free in the street in front of the house.

Please note that we are having some outdoor repairs done to the house in late May, June and July. These are mainly window repairs & painting and surface repairs on the outside of the house.

Tún, Reykjavík

The neighbourhood is a residential area and reasonably quiet, even if it is near the city center. You can take walks to The Pearl in Öskjuhlíð and enjoy the Klambratún park, as well as a visit the Reykjavik Art Museum at Kjarvalsstaðir or the art museum & sculpture garden in the former studio of Icelandic sculptor Ásmundur Sveinsson (Ásmundarsafn). There is a super-market and a shopping center in a approximately 5-10 minutes walking distance.

I currently lecture at a University. I like art, crafts and design, innovation, new media and computer games. I like travelling, the outdoors and horseriding. I am also keen on sustainability, gardening and world cuisine. When travelling I often use airbnb and really appreciate the advice and tips on local interests and activities. When hosting I try to be informative and helpful towards my guests.
