Covid update: If you need to cancel due to Covid, you may do so at anytime without penalties. We are currently accepting out of town guests in compliance with our state's Stay at Home order.

Equipped with all the simple essentials including running hot water. The kitchen includes sink, mini fridge, electric burner, toaster oven, and coffee maker. The bathroom has a shower and compost toilet. Enjoy your own fire pit and grill. We grow hops, hemp for CBD, vegetables, and pastured meats.

The space
The yurt is situated on a quiet section of our land, on a rumbling creek with views of our mountain valley, pasture, and hop yard. While the yurt is a space that allows for reconnecting to nature (no wi-fi & limited cell service), it provides all of the essentials for vacation including a hot tub, fire pit, TV for playing DVDs, well equipped kitchen, and AC unit. (Please note, there is no heat source).

Enjoy the view of the hop yard, pasture, and mountains from the hot tub! Nice hiking trail from your front door. Take 30 minute scenic drive to Hot Springs for hiking, swimming, and natural spring hot tubs; or take a trip to the quaint town of Marshall. Asheville is easily accessible, about a 25 min drive.

This is a GLAMPING experience. Some things to note about the glamping-style of the yurt: It is not an insulated building, therefore it can get warm on very hot days & cold on very cold days (the AC unit keeps it pretty cool but on very hot days, its best to get outdoors and come back when it cools off in the evenings); there is a COMPOST toilet; and the bed is a wooden platform with a futon mattress & memory foam topper.

Check out our additional listing if you have a larger group and need extra space. Extra guests may camp in our glamping tent - feel free to message us to discuss lodging options for your group.

Guest access
Yurt with attached bathroom are completely private. Your private creekside outdoor space includes a fire pit and grill. Hot tub is located on the property and is sometimes shared with guests who may be renting our RV. There is a sign up sheet to ensure you get the hot tub to yourselves for at least an hour at a time.

Other things to note
The yurt is a GLAMPING experience. It is not an insulated building, therefore it is likely you'll hear the outdoor elements more easily (wind, rain, dogs barking, roosters crowing....), get hot or cold more easily, or see the occasional bug more so than in a normal building structure.

A couple of other notes related to the GLAMPING-style of this yurt: the double bed is a platform with a futon mattress & memory foam topper; & the compost toilet is a bucket with cedar chips located underneath a toilet seat that closes.

There is NO wi-fi. Verizon is most reliable cell service; sometimes other services get range but it is not consistent or reliable.

Please be mindful of electricity use - the yurt can only handle so much.

Even the warmest summer days turn into cool nights. We recommend limiting use of the AC unit to times when you are inside the yurt (turn off when you leave) and opening up windows at night to let in the sounds of the creek and the cool mountain air.

There is no heat source other than space heater for those chilly spring/fall nights. DO NOT USE THE WOOD STOVE!

No smoking in or around the yurt. You can smoke across the creek.

The farm is located in a very remote area just outside of Asheville. You can check out some quintessential mountain towns nearby (Hot Springs & Marshall), or enjoy the bustling city of Asheville, all within a 30- 45 minute drive. There is a great family vineyard located 3 miles from the farm called Addison Farms Vineyard. Hot Springs hosts many AT hikers, campers, & boaters and offers natural hot springs, hiking and pubs. Marshall is home to two of our favorite local spots - Mad Co. Brewing Company & Sweet Monkey Cafe. We provide a host of other recommendations located in the information packet inside the yurt. Feel free to ask us for recommendations for anything you're interested in doing or seeing.

My husband, son, and I love living in the mountains of Western NC and are fortunate to have the best of both worlds- a home in the beautiful city of Asheville and a home on a small farm just 25 minutes out of town in Little Sandy Mush. We spend much of our free time helping out at the farm to create a sustainable lifestyle for our family. When we’re not on the farm, we are working, traveling, hiking, swimming in rivers, or hanging out at a local brewery.
