About this listing

Our fully-equipped one-bedroom garden apt. is in our 125 year-old Brownstone home in historic Park Slope, Brooklyn. The area has wonderful restaurants, is near Prospect Park, & the subway to all parts of NYC is just two blocks away. Come visit.

The space

This one-bedroom Garden Apartment features a separate bedroom WITH BRAND-NEW CARPETING, DESK AND DRESSER-DRAWS (1/16), separate full bathroom w/ tub and shower, an eat-in kitchen with adjoining living room in a historic Brooklyn Brownstone home built in 1889, with a garden just behind the apt. that is very nice to lounge in. (FYI, the bed is a "full" which works for most people.)

It's perfect for a single or couple who want to be in one of the most desirable neighborhoods in NYC ( Park Slope, Brooklyn) that is close to public transportation (4 minutes away) and 15 minutes from Manhattan. Alan Siege's family of 5 lives in the house above the apartment and we'll make sure you have a great time while you're visiting. When not being rented to AirBNB guests, my mother-in-law periodically uses the apartment.

Park Slope is a beautiful area with many good restaurants, a movie theater, and the amazing Prospect Park Nearby is the Brooklyn Museum, the Botanical Gardens, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The neighborhood is well served by the New York City Subway. Several lines have stops in Park Slope. The IND Culver Line (F G trains) run along 9th Street, a main shopping street, stopping at Fourth Avenue, Seventh Avenue and 15th Street – Prospect Park/Prospect Park West. The IRT Eastern Parkway Line (2 3 4 5 trains) runs under Flatbush Avenue with an express stop at Atlantic Avenue, and local stops at Bergen Street and Grand Army Plaza. The BMT Fourth Avenue Line (D N R trains) makes stops at Prospect Avenue, Ninth Street, Union Street and Atlantic Avenue – Pacific Street. The BMT Brighton Line (B Q trains) also passes through the neighborhood under Flatbush Avenue making stops at Atlantic Avenue and Seventh Avenue.

Guest access

Guests will have access to the garden just behind the back of the apartment.

Interaction with guests

I'm always available to help with a question about the area and, of course, if there's any problems with the apartment.

Comfortable, clean, quiet ground floor apt. in host family’s brownstone. Window air conditioners in the living room/kitchen and the bedroom were great because it was 95 degrees while we were visiting! Alan was quick with communications and easy to work with to arrange check in and check out. Would be happy to stay here again.

Great value for the property in this amazing and unique area. The house and all neibourhood is sooo beautiful, it was pleasure just to walk around, and The Prospect Park was georious. It is still close to Manhatten but there are so many things to do in the area. I can't say that it is luxury and also second sleeping place is not that comfortable (pull out bed with metal parts that you can feel). But it is perfect if you gonna use only one large comfortable bed. Alan was kind and helpfull, we really enjoy our stay and happy with our choice.

Very comfrotable central accomodation in close proximity to many facilities and various amenites and the wonderful Prospect Park where we enjoyed our daily walk. Highlights - Bagel Delight, Gate Inn, Barns and Noble Book Store etc etc. Access to courtyard garden at B&B appreciated. Very friendly and laid back hosts with the adorable Olive - the family pet dog(URL HIDDEN)

I loved my stay at Alan's apartment. He and his family are very welcoming and delightful hosts. The flat is beautifully located in a leafy Park Slope street with fantastic restaurants, cafés, shops and the subway station within walking distance. The apartment is cosy, comfortable and is a fantastic alternative to staying in a hotel. I would definitely return should I visit NYC again. Thank you Alan!

Had a perfect 9 nights at Alans no problems at all and the apartment is ideal for one person or a couple. It literaly has everything you may need, the bed is really comfy and everything you require to cook or to even make just simple meals. Alan was exytremely helpful and is only upstairs if required. There are only 2 steps down to the apartment itsd slightly dark as basement apartment but just leave a lamp on and its ok. I was visiting friends in Brooklyn so it was ideal for Park Slope having so many bars and restaurants within 5 mins of the accommodation. To go into Manhattan takes less than 30 mins on the F train which is about 5-10 mins walk from the apartment and buses to everywhere are only within 5-10 mins walk.I will definitely be back!
