After winter hibernation Spodnic is re opening for adults only to enjoy an out of this world retreat in the great outdoors!
As seen on Channel 4 Amazing Spaces Spodnic is an iconic building; "Spod" was part of the legacy from the 2012 London Olympics; remodelled by ourselves into an intergalactic glamping pod; an out of this world, stargazing UFO self-contained studio, which is made to sleep two people comfortably from this earth or another!
It has an adjacent huge private hot tub (undercover)

The space
Greetings earthlings!! Welcome to Spodnic!! Release your inner child and enjoy our outer space!!

Spodnic is situated in its own private fully fenced and gated garden ideal for rest and relaxation

Spodnic is a self-contained insulated luxury dome. The double bed has a merino wool mattress topper and wool duvet. All bedding and towels are provided. It also includes a handmade sofa bed (that transforms into bunk beds, with curtains for privacy.) There is a fixed radiator and hot water bottles are provided for chillier evenings

There are lots of surprises for guests! This is not your usual run of the mill experience!! Prepare for blast off!!

The kitchen is outside, (covered area) right next to the Spodnic; with fridge freezer, full electric cooker, hot and cold running water, utensils, and ample workspace. Dining table and comfy cushioned wicker chairs.

There is an adjacent supersize, deep; 6 person seated hot tub with multi jets for ultimate relaxation overlooking Spodnic & woodland (the hot tub area is enclosed to keep heat in and rain out! )
(There is an extra £30 cleaning fee for hot tub to be emptied, cleaned and refilled between each guest stay.)

***The £100 cleaning/damage deposit fee...*** this is payable 24 hours before your stay please; and refunded 24 hours after your check out provided their is no extra deep cleaning or damages.
We will refund £100 after your stay provided you have “left no trace” no damage or extra cleaning required.
£30 Air bnb cleaning charge is for hot tub to be emptied, cleaned and refilled between each guest.

There are luxury toilets and showers in an adjacent paddock 100yds from Spodnic, these are shared facilities (with adult couple staying in Mabels gypsy wagon)

Whilst dogs are welcome there is a charge of £10 per dog per night (payable on arrival please) and they must be up to date with Frontline or similar. Please bring dog beds and ensure they do not climb onto your beds!

Meat hampers can be pre ordered from Andrew Rees or Heywoods butchers and Caws Cenarth cheese hampers are all highly recommended and will all deliver and you can arrive to it all unpacked and ready for you. Plum Vanilla (see Facebook page) make delicious dishes to takeaway, you pre order, we take our tiffin boxes in and they fill them, we collect and store in fridge for your arrival... Matt Powell offers forage & feast days; please ask for more details.

For those evenings when you don’t wish to cook there are plenty of options of local restaurants offering take aways

Clear unpolluted skies are ideal for star and moon gazing, not much to hear except an occasional passing train or maybe cars in the distance... owls hooting and bats flying overhead... we have a strict no noise after 10pm so that all guests and wildlife can relax in peace!

May the forth be with you... come and celebrate all things Star Wars in style! Fancy dress costumes available!!

Guest access
Guests will have access to car parking area adjacent to the Spodnic, kitchen and garden area in a fully fenced and gated paddock. Separate shared luxury toilet and shower block.
There are hidden dangers... our watermill restoration project is a labour of love...the derelict buildings are fenced off and unsafe; children must be closely supervised at all times. We do ask that any dogs must always be closely supervised and on leads when outside of your secure field.

Other things to note
Do as much or as little as you like! Think seclusion, privacy, a time to chill out, deep relaxation, or be energized with all of the choices in the surrounding area...

Location

Templeton, Wales, United Kingdom

Templeton is rich in history; although nothing remains of its Sentence castle except a mound, it is an interesting walk and St Margarets well has been sympathetically restored.
According to local legend Templeton takes its name from the Knights Templar who hunted in the nearby forests and had some form of religious house or hospice in the village. Records are few and far between. The earliest reference to the village is 1282 when it was called villa Templaril.
The village has always been agriculturally orientated and the field structures have remained static for hundreds of years.
It has a population of roughly 850.
The village Post Office closed in 2011 and there is now no shop, and only one pub The Boars Head; which has been serving since 1837! Highly recommended for lunch or supper.
The Knights way footpath and Landsker borderlands walks are both near to the mill. There is also an abandoned airfield close by. A haven for wildlife and wild birds.
