The space
We have three modern and comfortable bedrooms available, the downstairs room is a double room. Upstairs are two rooms with single beds in each. All rooms have beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountains and are very spacious and bright.

There is an unparalled sense of peace and quiet in the area, the loudest sounds are the birds chirping and the nearby river gurgling.

We do have Wifi in case you need to contact the outside world.

Our house was designed by ourselves 20 years ago, allowing us to include all the features we love in a house - large, bright rooms with amazing views, a wood burning stove for traditional warmth and a cosy, comfortable feel to the place. We love having guests, and enjoy sharing our love of Donegal with them.

Where you’ll be

Donegal, County Donegal, Ireland

Guests who stay with us are making their way on the magnificent Wild Atlantic Way Some guests wish to discover more of beautiful Donegal, and stay a while taking trip to discover the surrounding areas. There is literally beauty around every corner in Donegal.

The nearby roads and trails are perfect for wandering, the roads are quiet with an abundance of wild life. Swallows visit in the summer, the Cuckoo arrives in April and stays until July. Pheasants can be seen most days in the fields and If you're lucky you may spot a Herron making its way to the nearby river. Listen for the sound of the nearby stream and if you take a walk at twilight there are (very elusive) badgers not too far up the road. Heather and bog-cotton adorn the hillsides, and we can suggest a few off road trails to you.

If the night is clear, star gazing is an option, and while we don't have a telescope, the Milkyway is visable to the naked eye. Visit midwinter for the best skies.

If you are interested in History, within fifteen minutes walk of the house, there are ruins of a approximately 12 famine cottages. Some are a little out of the way, but we have wellington boots in all sizes if you need to borrow a pair!

Lives in County Donegal, Ireland
I moved to Donegal 27 years ago to raise our kids in this idyllic setting, now all the kids are grown up and moved off and there is a lots of empty space! . Living in the countryside is wonderful, and as one of our guests remarked, it's like being next door to heaven. I love meeting new people.
