We came for our honeymoon with seven of our friends and stayed for 4 nights. Hans was great with communication before the trip and Dilion provided great property management service while we were there. The water did stop working once, but was fixed within a few hours. There was not hot water but I didn't expect there to be. The property is entirely gated with a tall fence, though the fence didn't lock. There were combo locks on the upstairs door, front door, and back house which was nice because we didn't have to worry about keys. However, the inside bolt of the back house did not line up with the door jam so the girls in the back couldn't lock themselves in at night. When you walk in the gate, the front house is about 20 feet in front of you. There are stairs leading upstairs on the front of the house to the master suite. The two balconies attached to the suite are nice and we hung out on the front one with the hammock and a seating area quite a bit. The suite was very nice and had two sinks and a toilet as well as a king bed and nice fan. Back downstairs, as you walk in the house, the bunk room is directly to your left with a double bunk bed and single bed. There is a door directly from that room connecting to the main bathroom, and a door from the kitchen to the main bath as well. The kitchen is the only other thing in the main house, and was suitable for our needs with a nice fridge. You walk out of the back door of the main house and follow a path past the pool table and to the bunk house in the back. This room was rather small but fit a double bunk bed, mini fridge, and attached bath. The house was in a safe location and we were able to walk to town and back at night in groups without a problem - though I wouldn't recommend walking alone because it's not well lit in some areas along the road. It is a bit far from town but just a 15 minute walk or so. It is VERY close to Tasty Waves which was very nice on Tuesday night. The street it was on was very safe. The recently established Selinas took over the old Hotel Agapi and was a great resource to have near by. You could book tours there, rent new bikes for $6 a day, eat at their restaurant and bar, and swim in their pool. They had a breakfast buffet for $5pp each morning. Additionally, they called cabs for us. Yes, there's no AC, hot water, or wifi but this is typical of the area and we were therefore prepared and not bothered by it. The only minor annoyance was the proximity of the neighbors. I thought this property might be sort of more out in...

Wonderful location, close to the beach, and great little garden to sit around outside. Town was only 5 minutes by bike! Hans was always great at comunication. The beach house accommodated 6 adults and 5 children, in the three bedrooms. The kitchen was simple and although we needed a few more things Dillian, the property manager was always on hand to help and responded promptly. Overall we had a great time at Hans house!

There were 8 adults staying here that fit us comfortably. The kitchen was glorious and we really enjoyed eating upstairs on the massive porch. We were so close to the beach which made everyone happy as this was the reason for us coming. We were close enough to town to walk or bike there, but far enough from town to not be caught in the noise. Dillon (house manager) was amazing he was there every day just to check up on us. Easy to reach by phone if necessary. A couple people in our group had some hiccups and Dillon was available to help them sort it out. When we go back to Puerto Viejo we will definitely stay here again.

We didnt have water for 3 days. We were promised that it would be fixed but it never did. We checked out before we had to because we could not stand to be with out water any more. We could not flush, shower or wash our hands. The manager Dilan was there often and tried his best. Good guy. The house is more worn down then what the pictures reveales.

The structure of this house is beautiful, however it is listed to host 11 people and it could only host four people comfortably at best. The house was not prepared for our arrival. There was only enough dishes, cutlery, sheets, pillowcases, for four people max. The water consistently turns off throughout the day and you have to go restart it in the back shed. The lighting in the house is poor because many lights don't have lightbulbs. The bathroom and kitchen sink had broken faucets. There was a leak coming into the kitchen. The fans are broken. All the mosquito nets had holes in them. The property manager was very helpful in attempting to fix these issues. Unfortunately, the mainetence was constant and he ended up coming over almost every day. I cannot justify paying the amount I did for the house when there are hostels down the street that offer just as much and more for far less. It felt as if we were the first guests to stay in the house for quite some time. I would not recommend this palce to stay unless some serious upgrades were put into the house. I hope that our input will be taken into considerstion by the owner so the house can thrive to its full potential in the future.

We really enjoyed our stay in Hans' house. We were able to see a different side of Costa Rica. The beach was really close, also the bars and restaurants. Dilan and Hans were always responsive to our needs and gave us a lot of amazing advice so we could enjoy the most of our trip.

I enjoy pursuing my hobbies. I built a house in Costa for daily surfing, fishing, diving, snorkeling, gardening, and living amongst a natural habitat. I am proud to be able to call these my hobbies for life.

I have traveled the world, seen amazing things, and await the future with much anticipation!
