Unique historical home in the heart of Kentucky. This home is a fully restored 18th century inn, and currently a working farm. All the modern amenities, but you'll feel like you are in another time. Peace and quiet in a secluded valley surrounded by mature trees, a beautiful lawn, and plenty of outdoor areas to sit and enjoy the scenery. A perfect place to unwind and relax while being less than 5 minutes from downtown Danville, 35 minutes from Lexington, 90 minutes from Louisville.

The space

The home was originally an inn that served settlers and pioneers coming along the Wilderness Trail through Kentucky. There are a couple of very unique details that are in keeping with the original use of the home including the original staircase to the upper floor. While beautiful, it cannot be considered handicap accessible. Persons with difficulty walking or climbing stairs may be restricted to using the main floor only. There is no sleeping area on the main floor.

Guest access

There are horses, cows and farm cats that may be out and about during your stay. We will be on the grounds feeding all the animals during your stay.

Interaction with guests

You'll be met at the property at check-in to hand over the keys and answer any questions. During your stay, we will be available via phone call or text to answer any questions and take care of any concerns you might have.

Beautiful home right outside of Danville. Nice and secluded to enjoy some peace and quiet. Loved watching the horses run around the property.

My boyfriend, dog, and I enjoyed a week long stay at Stone House Stables. Although we were running a little late driving there, Carla waited to greet us at the property. Plus she had a cheese plate with crackers and bread and cookies waiting for us! She gave us a quick tour and a rundown on the property, left the keys, and was on her way. We only needed to contact her once during our entire stay with some questions, but she responded promptly. The house and property were lovely and quite unique. Despite being a historical home, the amenities are updated and modern. The beds were super comfortable and the dual shower heads in the upstairs bathroom was a bonus! The horses on the property were very friendly and didn't have any issues with our dog. Location was pretty convenient, with Kroger and many restaurants within a 10 minute drive. It's about 30 minutes from Lexington and an hour from Bardstown. We would definitely stay again!

We loved having the opportunity to meet Carla and lear about the history of her property and family. Carla greet us with homemade goodies and delicious treats. Carla really went above and beyond the extra mile to welcome us. We enjoyed the beautiful home, gorgeous setting, many porches, fire pit and watching the horses in the field. The house was spacious and stocked with everything one would need! Beds were very comfortable and all linens very soft. We throughly enjoyed every minute of our stay! Thank you Carla!

Stone House Stables was a great option for our weekend in Danville. It was clean and comfortable, had everything we needed, and was just a few minutes drive from Centre College. Great option for groups!
