We had a lovely short trip staying in the shepherd's hut. It is cosy and very warm and comfortable. The setting is beautiful with an amazing view and right by the river Wye. We felt so relaxed from the peace and tranquility and were sad to leave.

Loved staying in the Shepherd's Hut, such a cosy set up! The woodburner and minifridge made the experience that much nicer. Ros looked after us well, with a delicious punnet of raspberries thrown in! Will definitely be returning.

If you love the outdoors and camping then you will love this cute and charming wagon. It is located in a secluded camping site. Not too many people. There are apples and pear trees around and there is a path to walk to the river which is really lovely. It is only a short walk to the centre of Hay on Wye where all the bookshops, cafes and pubs are. Rosalind and her husband are very friendly and accommodating. They gave us recommendations where to eat and brought us chairs to sit outside the wagon. The bed is very comfortable and there are crockery, little fridge, tea/coffee and a small wood burning fireplace. There is a shared good hot shower and basic loo which were kept reasonably clean. We had the best sleep in months because it's so peaceful and cosy. I highly recommend it.

Everything about this is perfect. The hut is surprisingly spacious, with a comfy bed, small but powerful stove, a mini fridge and electricity. The host provides some basic crockery, cups and tea making facilities, which is a lovely touch. The campsite is perfectly located 10 minutes walk from the beautiful Hay-on-Wye, and has wonderful views. There is a big emphasis on eco camping, the loos are composting, and there are extensive recycling facilities. The host, Ros, is lovely and welcoming, and happy to help with any query (she even brought us raspberries freshly picked from the field!) I would recommend this place to a couple, as it is a cosy little place for a weekend away. Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying again!

The Shepherd's Hut is a wonderful place to stay; it's on a lovely campsite with a gorgeous view of Hay yet somehow about 15 minutes' walk from the town. It's cosy inside, and I was lucky enough to get great weather and sit at the front which is an amazing sun-trap. Ros was a really welcoming host and everything was provided. A great experience of Hay!

We hope to provide an authentic experience for those staying with us. I have lived here for most of my life and know lots about the area and wonderful Wales, which is a great little country.
We love animals, have beautiful woodlands and lots of enthusiasm for our local culture.
