We loved our stay at Mirco's apartment. Mirco was very quick to respond to any concerns we had. He was also extremely flexible with our check-in. We provided an expected check-in time prior to arrival, but we ran into a few issues with public transportation when we got to NY. We kept him updated about what was going on, and he kept telling us it was not an issue. When we finally did arrive (almost two hours later than we thought), Mirco was extremely friendly and welcoming. He helped us carry our bags downstairs, and he showed us where everything was. The space was clean, neat, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Mirco provided plates and dishes, so we could cook occasionally. There were also plenty of extra blankets and pillows for the beds.
As far as location, the apartment is about half an hour from Manhattan. It took us a day or two to figure out the Staten Island buses, but when we did, we found it very easy to navigate. Most commonly, we either took a bus to the R train or to the ferry. Both are easy to use, though I personally preferred the ferry. The neighborhood itself is very quiet at night. We did return late a few days and only saw one or two other people out. We were never disturbed by outside noises while trying to sleep. Overall, I would highly recommend Mirco's place.
