Obrien’s House is two storeys of bright and airy rooms. One room has a grand piano with books of music, another an HDTV with a wide range of DVDs. The ground floor has a gas fireplace for cold days, the first floor a balcony for hot days. Nearly every wall has art from around the world, and nearly every shelf a small library of books. Carol and Thomas are very thoughtful hosts. They were happy to take us from the bus stop to the house. They made sure we were aware of all there was to do in the house and in the town. And they were quick to give answers to all our questions. My wife and I had a very good week at Obrien’s House in Cullen. We shall certainly be back.

We really loved the place it a very nice house and much more than what just 2 bed room. The house has all the facility to cook and even had milk, tea, coffee machine, breakfast, bread etc. It was much more than what we expected for the price.

Thomas and Carol are wonderful hosts. We had an absolutely splendid time staying in their lovely house. It was so much more than we had expected. The house was amazing; well situated, comfortable, so well stocked with everything you would need for a relaxing and interesting stay. The house was like a tardis with so many extra rooms than stated in the listing and topped by the presence of a baby grand piano and a great balcony with wonderful views across the rooftops of the town and out across the Moray Firth. A truly delighful stay. Wish we could have stayed longer. We would recommend this property to anybody who was looking for a great place to explore the beautiful coastline of the area as well as it being so well situated for day trips out and sightseeing other areas of Scotland.

What can I say? This has to have been the most pleasurable two weeks away and it was largely in part to the house and its hosts. Carol and Thomas are so lovely to deal with and incredibly thoughtful - particularly with regards to our two children aged 2 and 5. This thoughtfulness meant the girls felt very at home. Carol and Thomas were responsive, helpful and provided for everything. The house itself is a total gem. A small place from the front, it hides spacious bedrooms, bathrooms and the most incredible cooking and living space. We loved using the upstairs sitting room and balcony in the evenings whilst the girls were happy with their lego downstairs during the day. The very large yard is a sun trap and good to spend time in. The beds were gloriously comfortable and all linen was provided for. We often hung out in the kitchen area because it's particularly welcoming with every gadget you might want including a nutribullet and tassimo machine. All this mattered because with two small children we made use of the kitchen a lot so a cupboard full of food pots (great for picnics) and decent knives (rental houses never have these) were appreciated. In short, if you see this place available, book it. We are SO HAPPY that we did. Thank you Carol and Thomas.

This cottage is a bit like the Tardis with more space than you expect from the outside. Comfortable bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen and lots of public space, made for a very relaxing stay. Carol was a very thoughtful and attentive host, good heating helped us dry out after some showery weather. We enjoyed walks on Cullen beach and watching the sunset from the balcony...a great place for a break.

We thought the house looked very nice from the photographs but the pictures really don't do it justice - the house is absolutely stunning! The hosts have thought of everything and I couldn't make any suggestions for improvement if I tried. The entire house is very spacious, well appointed and comfortable and is easily the best holiday home we've ever stayed in. There are lovely views over the rooftops to the sea from the upstairs sitting room and balcony, and the house is very close to central Cullen but in a quiet peaceful street. The hosts are a delight to deal with and we hope to have another stay in the same place in the future.
