Enjoy the view from this wonderful 1940's waterfront cottage on the Sasanoa River in Woolwich. From here access Reid or Popham Beach State Parks with ease. Visit Maine Maritime museum in Bath, the "City of Ships." Head to Portland for a night out. Just relax and watch the seals, osprey and eagles. Rent a boat to enjoy all this extremely special waterway has to offer. Around the corner is the Kennebec River and Merrymeeting Bay, to the south you'll discover Phippsburg and historical Fort Popham.
Bring your fishing pole! Wonderful fishing spot from a rock/beach very close by. The area is very special because the waterway allows access to extensive boating activity.
The views from this vantage point are spectacular. It is located right off route 1 North, Woolwich. There are no neighbors to the right of the Cottage. The water system is public but waste water goes into a holding tank, which must be pumped; conservation is a must for guests who book. I believe that the cottage is perfect as is. I absolutely love this space, and hope you will too!
Guests have use of this fully furnished Cottage. There is a path from cottage through the woods under the bridge to a private beach and spectacular fishing spot! Chairs already there.

Other things to note
Directions. Route 1 North from Bath, head over the Sagadahoc Bridge. Directly on the other side is Woolwich where you will spy a Dairy Queen. Turn right at D.Q. As if heading down Route 127. Before stop sign, on the left, there is D Street. Turn left onto D street and right on Sasanoa Road. Follow to the end. Cottage is the last on the street, blue, and on the left. Please be aware of public water going to Cottage; the pipes are shallow since it's a seasonal space, so please keep cars off the grass that's in front of the cottage. You may pull straightforward beyond the road for extra parking. Lots of current in this area so please respect the rivers.
Please treat my Cottage as if it were your own. I spent most of my life dreaming about a Cottage much like this one and I feel extremely blessed to have gotten the opportunity to purchase this with a dear old friend. The location is in a very special place, on a body of water accessible to many exceptional places, such as Merrymeeting Bay in the Kennebec River where 5 rivers converge. Five Islands, Popham, and Boothbay Harbor to name a few accessible places.
There is absolutely no smoking inside the Cottage. Feel free to smoke outside and dispose of cigarette butts in coffee can provided. This camp has a 1000 gallon "holding tank" where all waste water goes. It must be pumped out and hauled away every time it gets full, so as you can imagine it is quite important that all guests use water conservatively. I.E. not allowing it to run down the drain while brushing teeth or doing dishes. However the water is provided by the local utility so it is certainly potable. Close by, in the city of Bath there is a laundromat.
Respect for neighboring properties is also required. Although my Cottage is seasonal, some folks live here year round so please have quiet time between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Mostly it is my wish that you relax and enjoy this very special area and unique space.
Swimming from Sweet Cottage is absolutely safe and wonderful. There is a swim float, best time for swimming is an hour or two before and after high tide as it is very shallow at low tide. Current in the river is mainly in the channel which is very obvious, and located almost over to the other side. Life jackets inside Cottage if needed.
Please leave kitchen as you found it, with all dishes clean and grease free and put away.
